Dan's totally irrelevant addition to this thread:

For the longest time I thought FTFY stood for Fuck That Fuck You..

Come to think of it, I like my version a lot better.

In the hands of an accomplished marksman FTFY can be an effective weapon. Far too many posters around here have picked it up, as it was the biggest gun on the shelf.

Unfortunately, being that they never practiced and learned to shoot with a .22, they just can't control or master it's power. In fact, I have seen Boondock shoot himself in the foot on numerous occasions.

In any case, if we stopped allowing FTFY, Pickle and Boondock would hardly post anymore, and we certainly wouldn't want that.

Please FTFY me Pickle and Boondock, you know you want to.

What is unfortunate is that some people have adopted it as the foundation of their posting. Moderation, good people. Moderation.

As to Kao's idea to get rid of it, I would simply like to point out how well his last idea to "fix the forum" worked out. Case in point, our latest ***** Knuckles, AKA Rosie.

Sorry MoebiusLord, you're the closest example. I don't mean anything by this, except to illustrate the point I'm about to make. It's not only that people use it too often, but they're somtimes too harsh. So don't only use moderation in quantity, but also in aggressiveness. Even though that's the harshest thing I could come up with at 9:30 in the morning, I hope it still illustrates my point.

I feel like the AFLAK duck at the moment listening to Yogi Berra talk.

And no offense, if that's the harshes thing you can think of at any time of the day you may be in a bit over your head. Try this on for size:

Sorry MoebiusLord, please don't eat my firstborn. I'm trying to prove a point, and I know it's around here somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find it. Some of you are real meanies. If you're gonna make fun of me, and my owner (cuz who are we kidding, I am the sockiest of puppets), can you be just a little nicer to my ***? Some KY maybe? I mean, come on, this is the best I can do, so how could I be a point scoring target? The effort isn't worth it.

EDIT: Forgot to add, FTFY.

That has to be the absolute worst FTFY in the history of this forum.

I never said I was good at it, or that I even really tried. It was 9:30 in the morning and I had to leave for class ten minutes after the post.

If you're wondering, I'm attending Eastern Kentucky University and majoring in Forensic Science.
