My spidey-senses told me that Scotland was running low on Alcohol-misuse and irrelevant conversation so I was duty-bound to go to their aid.

A relaxing week of walking, drinking, reading, wood-turning, bowyering and fletching (someone has to). Oh - and teaching the kids how to use a Long Bow whilst saving money on fresh meat

Which part of Scotland did you go to? The weather has been so shit lately it's not true.

While I didn't invent FTFY, I introduced it to this board. I also introduced RACK to Alla's and we've had some complaints about that too, but it has slowly been dying so maybe it's a moot point. I think FTFY has kept its' freshness because there are so many things needing fixing in so many people's posts, as opposed to RACK because so many people never have anything RACKable to say.

I vote that it stays.

You could really keep the keystrokes to a minimum if you never post here again.

The Southern Uplands (South Ayrshire to be precise).
The Scottish definition of good weather is warm rain falling at greater than 45 degrees Smiley: grin

A few days of drizzle (Beer, Whisky, Reading, Bowyering) and a few of glorious sunshine (Walking, Beer Whisky, Archery).

/boring mode ON

First attempts at making long-bows using unseasoned (green) wood. Yew and Ash (The best if seasoned) proved to be ****. Green Hazel, on the other hand made for a pretty nice 7' bow - went a bit heavy on the spoke-shave at 1st and snapped a few, but had a couple of notable successes. A bit more practice and France will be flying the Union Jack again soon Smiley: wink

As I hail from Texas, my vote matters not.

However, I suggest all FTFYs should be submitted to an independent panel for peer review. Said panel will then decide whether the given FTFY is RACKable or not.

Should the FTFY in question be determined to be RACKable by a 3/5 majority of the panel, the FTFY will then be posted. However, should the FTFY be found to be of unRACKable quality, the FTFY will not be posted, and the submitter of the FTFY will be unable to submit a new FTFY for review for a period of two days, as punishment for being a dull, possibly unoriginal *** jiblet.

Could we institute a minimum age or at least an I.Q limit? That may help. Nothing really hard for the I.Q. test would be needed, something equivalent to a “pull to open door” sign on something that is normally “pushed” ought to do it.

The only reason that some people don't like FTFY is that they don't choose their words carefully enough and they always get the Fixation dropped on their Moranic Asses.

Just sayin' <-------now there's something that might be getting a little old.

Now, I know you're full of ****.
Sir you are easily led. The Scots may have refined the art of producing high quality alcoholic drink, and indeed consume it in prodigious quantities, but it takes an Englishman to seriously mis-use it.

And as for irrelevant conversation; armadillo leg-warmer sophomore bayonet.

Thank you

Well if we're after new 'catch-phrases', how about "Drudge Said. . ."?

Oh - have to say I liked 'Herbert'

I doubt it, you're French twin Nobbier was off making trebuchets while you were fiddling about with arrows.

Did you dine on any typically savage Brittish food? Left nut of a warm sheep with spleen sauce?

If that happened, then this forum would have the same fncked up problems as this nation does (yes I am referring to the USA; for you retards that can't believe I'm saying this, I do mean the United States of America USA) pretty soon, we'd all be voting on which letters of the alphabet we're not allowed to use. We don't want to have to wait months for a post to actually appear on the forum instead of instintaneous posting that we have now! And for the record, I am considered an intellectual by myself and many others.

Now don't confuse our cuisine with our cosmetic products.

If it's boiled for less than 2 hours it's make-up or clothing.

I'm from outside Glasgow and actually we've had a few days this summer over 25 degrees

The only thing we remotely have like that is Haggis, which you all know is a three legged flightless bird that runs counter-clockwise round mountains to evade predators as it has two short legs and one long leg.

Actually it is a sheeps stomach boiled with guts and spleen inside. And the only predators we have are badgers.

Pickle beat me to it. I love how some of these cretins have to highlight their intellectual horsepower as if they were used car salesmen shilling the latest low budget econo-car to a jaded and wary prospective buyer used to Detroit muscle. "See? Looka the ponies under the hood! 46 of them running in a crazy stampede, all at your command! And have I mentioned how it'll take a Yugo and a Festiva off the line and leave 'em in the dust? Pure exhilaration, baby!"

XWheels, I'll be certain to prepare myself for a real thrill and make sure I'm strapped into my computer chair before I read your next scintillating and mind blowing post...

The whole FTFY thing is officially lame. Yes, i know someone is going to do it to this post, that is a given, but damn people, get some new material already!

Posts complaining about the forums are officially lame. Anyone that feels the urge to do this should immediately re-evaluate themselves and their place in the Universe, and maybe call up their SO and have some quickie sex.
