TILT
No doubt a bunch of lazy lay-abouts who aren't willing to embrace the exciting opportunities in Bush's new economy. The other option being that the Census Bereau is run by a bunch of liberals. Probably both.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Some 1.3 million Americans slid into poverty in 2003 despite the economic recovery, and children and blacks were worse off than most, the government said Thursday in a report certain to fuel Democratic criticism of President Bush.

The percentage of the U.S. population living in poverty rose to 12.5 percent from 12.1 percent in 2002, the Census Bureau said in its annual poverty report, seen by some as the most important score card on the nation's economy and Bush's first term in office. The ranks of the poor rose to 35.9 million, a boost of 1.3 million.

Health care coverage also dropped last year and incomes were essentially stagnant, the Census Bureau said in its annual poverty report, seen by some as the most important score card on the nation's economy and Bush's first term in office.

As an aside, what kind of monkey does Reuters hire to copyedit these things?

Since I make more than $30k, wouldn't that be above the poverty level?

Have you always lived in CA? That's an average. Poverty level in SoCal is probably alot higher.

I work at Macromedia...

606 Townsend Street...basically Townsend between 7th and 8th Streets.

I don't know if that MapQuests or not...it's inbetween 600 and 650. You've probably seen the building before. It has Macromedia and Sega logos on it and it's right beside 101.

I have lived in SoCal for 95% of my adult life, yes. I don't think you can rent a doghouse on 8k a year.

Agreed, its so pathetic. I was in traffic court the other day and this trailer trash woman was complining to the deputy that she couldn't pay her fine because she was on wellfare and pregnant. Or wait, I think it might have been Katie.

Well this says it all there are more bummy as Democrats refusing to work and blaming it on Bush because they're broke.

Lets say I make 8 dollars and hour, which just about anyone can get, and work 50 hours a week. Then that means you're making approximately 1200 a month. 1200 times 12 equals 14,400 putting you above the poverty line. Now imagine that you have a roommate or spouse that also works making about the same then your household income is just under 29,000 for two people. So because a bunch of lazy *** bums don't want to work the 50hrs a week and just collect welfare, primarily minorities, you want to blame this on Bush? I say good for Bush.

Then those bums should move to another area or get a job making more money. If you're rent is 400 a month that's only 4800 a year. God these bums need to get off their lazy asses.

Lets say i make $8 an hour, for every hour i produce about $15, deiscounting my wages, the company makes $7 an hour X however many employees it has, so the guy at the top sits in his mansion making money while he sits on his backside and i make a fraction of what he does even though its me doing the work, make that guy work and pay him the same as everyone else, then the company still functions but everybody make $9 an hour instead, and yet people still say that ommunism is wrong.
