Kerry Jinx'ing himself?Follow

#1 Aug 13 2004 at 2:10 PM Rating: Decent
I recently read a thread somewhere here that Kerry has been releasing Poll results for pure propaganda. Now I'm all for exploiting every chance to win, but could there be a slight chance that Kerry could lose?

Everytime he opens his mouth there is a slight change that he will lose. That is until Bush opens his and then he's back on top again. After that it just goes back and forth until i'm pretty fed up with both of them.

Has there ever been a political campaign that didn't release positive poll results for propaganda?

I don't doubt that the Democratic Party is taking polls showing Kerry ahead and saying "Look! We're doing what we set out to do! Now let's go win this!" Likewise, I've no doubt BushCo isn't saying the exact same when a poll shows that people think Iraq was the right choice or whatever.

I agree, although I'm most tired of the millions of dollars that are wasted for campaigns, when there are so many other things it could be used for.

But they wouldn't be. Do you really think before some CEO sends $2k to the Bush campaign or some blue collar guy sends $50 to Kerry (or vice versa if you'd like), he's sitting there making little weighing motions with his hands and saying "Bush or Cure for Cancer? Bush or Cure for Cancer? Ah, ***** it.. Bush it is"? Of course not. They'd be spending it on whatever CEOs and blue collar workers spend an extra $2k/$50 on.

Even if that's the case, with less money I wouldn't have to see and hear them say the same tired thing over and over again. They should send me $50 or 2K and than I'll vote for them, I'd prefer that method much more.

I mean, they are buying air time, PR, polling, all aimed at making you vote for them. Cut out the middle man and send me a check. It'll save me time listening to both sides.

=)

Yeah, I think he went an "jinxed" himself. That's a shame too, because I was looking forward to the election. I guess there's just no point now unless someone can convince Kerry to run outside and spin around three times and spit to break the hex.

Woe is me!

hehe ok, I'm still new to politics. With Kerry still waffling around on the vote to authorize war thing, seems to me the undecided's will lean towards a man with at least two feet planted on the ground.

Only if they're already disposed to Bush's war plans.

If one guy is for stepping on kittens and the other guy "waffles" on the stepping on kittens issue, I'm only going to be impressed with the first guy's strong stance if I'm already for kitten stomping.

You better not stomp on kittens! Or I will introduce you to the sharp end of my katana. If you are going to do anything with kittens, use a catapult. ~grin~

Hahaha.

Yeah.

Undecideds nearly never break for the incumbent. If you live with a guy as President for four years and still aren't supporting him, it's almost never the case that in the last three months of a campaign cycle you you decide, "Hey I'm gonna vote for him!"

Particularly a high profile election like this one. Best Bush can hope for is that undecideds don't vote at all.

So we've learned AOL users have a special empathy for Bush?

Yeah, would could have imagined that? Smiley: wink2

You seem to be the only Dem that thinks this, most Liberal rags say the undecided not voting is a vote for Bush.

Will drag up a link eventually. There's several political comics using that as a catch phrase in that 'This Modern World' I posted a while back. So who's right? You? Or the rest of your party?

That's exactly what he stated.

Damn I knew most people who used AOL didn't seem smart. But still, damn...

Kind of reminds of when my friend told me that Kerry was going to win by 100 electoral votes.
