Just wondering if anyone will try out EQ2 or World of Warcraft? I will be trying world of warcraft myself. I've only been playing EQ for about 1 year.

EQ2 probably.

WoW has been so overly hyped and fanboied to death it couldn't possibly live up to anyone's expectation of it at this point.

I'm not convinced of Blizzard's ability to stop it from being hacked into little pieces in about a week yet either.

Well, after my experience with FF11. If I can't get into the open beta for Wow, I'm not going to buy it to find out if it sucks or not.

Staying with CoH. I'd be all for a EQ2 revival of FoS but the likelyhood of that happening are slim to none.

And slim left town.

EQ2 for sure. I played the orignal for 5 years I think I can give this one at least one month of my time. And finally have a rig to play it. Woohoo.

BTW WoW isnt gonna work out so well, they have 2 tanking classes and 7 melee/healer/support classes. I'll do Open Beta but it doesn't look good for Blizzard with this game.

P.S. If they have Erudite Shadowknights in EQ2 I'll be in...

i'll continue to play EQ and also play EQ2. I preordered and got the character creation front end as a "reward". I was hoping for more but the game itself seems to be shaping up to be interesting enough to provide me an outlet.

WoW is just a way overplayed idea to me. It will always be the RTS style it started out to be, not a mmorpg.

WoW seems like it will be over hyped and populated by fan boys kinda like FFXI which means little ******* whining about every aspect of the game.

EQ2 should attract more veteran MMO players so hopefully a more stable community. People will know what they are doing, they still might be annoying as people tend to be but at least they might have a clue.

only thing that really pisses me off about eq2 is that even though i've been a subscriber since the original game and payed $150 for character transfers, i'm last in line for beta behind legends subscribers and people who purchased Lords of EQ: The WC3 rip-off.

I will never play an EQ game again. And the new character models for EQII look horrible. They look like claymation figures and the Dark Elves look like blue smurfs.

Probably EQ2, but I'll try out Warcraft. Since Blizzard lost a big portion of their Blizzard North team, they seem to be making weird development decisions. I seriously can't wait to see how Middle Earth Online turns out.

I don't want to start a pointless internet argument over it, but seriously, what mmorpg's graphics impress you? I think the EQ2 graphics are stunning for an mmo, but its ALWAYS content that makes the game, not the graphics. the EQ team has proven they can make an emmersive world, and now they are going to make a world where you can walk down a town streets and actually hear the mumbling of NPCs, the woofing of stable boy's dogs, the foot steps of other players as they run by. If that's not emmersion, I'm missing the game you're playing. (what game are you playing anyway?)

A clarification: Verant proved they could make a immersive world. Most of the people responsible for that immersion have long ago departed, unfortunately.

We won't know when its going to be released till they get a bulk of the beta testing done so they can make a rational estimate as to when they can get it to the public. The game is in the VERY early stages of beta right now. Just left Alpha about a month ago.

Have 2 copies of EQ2 and one for WoW (wife is more interested in EQ2) pre-ordered.

In the meantime, having a blast in City of Heroes on Virtue and Guardian servers - Good times...

In a moment of weakness, I re-activated my EQ accts...missed my characters, I suppose. Once in-game, I remembered the time-sink factor and other drawbacks that made me instantly regret re-activating...

So in-between CoH, working on a new comic strip idea and playing DYI guy around the house, EQ once again is gathering mothballs (and the dumbass that is me paid for two 6-month subscriptions, doh! doh! doh! Smiley: banghead)...

I've had periodic access to a WoW beta account. From the little I played, it was very fun. The look took some getting used to, but has grown on me. I'm sure I'll buy it when it comes out, but don't know how long it will keep my interest (the game seems too easy).

As for the fanbois, well I hear those that got in beta already are doing their best to ruin the game. You know the old story, the nuke classes just don't nuke hard enough, the melee classes aren't invincible, and the support classes... well none of those guys play support classes, so moan that they're even needed. Something like that.
