Bah, tis nothing. Wait till La Palma in the Canary Islands to collapse, and there won't *be* a Florida anymore. It'll be under so much water the only thing exposed will be the shiny top of Spaceship Earth in Epcot Center. Having said that, I'll probably be underwater by then too, so I might as well get a new swimsuit.

Maybe I should just move to Ohio. Nothing ever happens there.

We've had quite a few tornadoes this year here.

Havn't managed to wipe out and conservative strongholds though.

I forgot the 'e' in Tornadoes. Made it hard when I was doing a search a few minutes ago for an old columnn on the number of tornadoes in N. America vs. the rest of the world.

Apparently, the United States averages 700 twisters a year. The next highest country is Australia with a mere 200 on average. I didn't see where Canada rated, I'm afraid though I doubt you guys would even notice a tornado in 98% of your country.

Yeah, more than likely, Joph. I live on the prairies and we get more than anywhere else in Canada, but we still rarely see any. We've had a remarkable amount of them touch down this year. We have had the stupidest weather ever this summer.

Amazingly enough our biggest problems in Texas this year has been mosquitoes carrying off small dogs, gorillas, the Dallas Cowboys trying to get a new stadium, and rain (never would have believed it) causing floods.

I originally read that as mosquitos were carrying off small dogs, gorillas and the Dallas Cowboys.

On the other hand, I'm not sure having "gorillas" as a problem in of itself is any improvement.

What the Dallas Cowboys need to do is just build a God ugly and horrible new stadium inside of the old one so it looks like an alien spacecraft just landed in some Roman ruins. Then you can lose your old stadium's status as a protected Historical Landmark because you've completed destroyed the unique and classical architecture of your old stadium. Then you'd be free to knock down the remaining columns because they're no longer protected!

Or maybe that just works in Chicago.

Tell that to the people who got a scare when a gorilla escaped from the Dallas Zoo. Of course when you think about it, Dallas is a zoo!
