No, I think its patriotic if you are do so in order to be able to correct what you believe are mistakes. Anyone who would blindly follow any administration simply because we are at war at the time is a fool who is begging to be taken advantage of.

So a presidential candidate speaking to leaders of other countries in anonymity is an acceptable and patriotic act? The only people Kerry should be discussing anything with is the american people to let them know where he can lead the country. Not behind closed doors with God knows who discussing what they're going to do once the current administration is gone. As for the blindly follow thing what the hell are you talking about? We were discussing issues concerning the anonymous meetings, or conversations, with foreign leaders. Again all we have are vague statements from kerry to go on, hell he may not have had these conversations that he alluded to but then that just makes his tendency to lie all the more transparent.

In response to the OP...

I am a non-voter, but would be a Democrat if I cared.

1. John Kerry has spent 19 years on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. I don't think it was unreasonable for him to speak with foreign leaders.

2. It is a well established fact that Bush is not very loved in most, if not all, foreign countries. I don't find it surprising that a number of foreign leaders would privately offer their support to Kerry.

3. While maybe it wasn't the wisest thing to publicly state that foreign leaders he can't name have expressed their support privately, I certainly don't find it treasonist.

That's a damn good question. I wonder if Bush discussed that with the Saudi royal family in '00 when he met with them eight times during his campaign.

That's a good point. I wonder if Cheney discussed that when he was in Isreal for completely secret talks during the '00 campaign.

That's a good point, I wonder if Ken Lay handed Cheney a big bag of cash or a check while he was deciding energy policy in secret meetings that still aren't released to the American public.

Some good points you raise there. It's pretty clear you shouldn't be voting for Bush.

Very good point.

Good job we haven't noticed any private un-minuted meetings between 'Mr Nucular' taking place with Berlusconi & with Aznar after the formal close of international summits.

Are you so mind-achingly stupid to believe informal international political alliances don't exist between like-minded politicians.

(Rhetorical question btw. You've answered it in most of your posts)

So what you're saying is Kerry should't have to cite which leaders have told him they prefer him over w even though he brought the subject up to begin with? Typical

Of course he shouldn't.

Just as Bush doesn't cite how much money he gave to each member of the "Coalition of the willing" to get them to be "willing"
