And the Lord saieth "Thou shalt not take the Lord's name in vain" And Lo, Oorahsams did quake and wobble and PicklePrince did light unto the Lord a holy sacrifice of Varus's *** and did hand it unto him. And he saw that it was good.

And Pickle begat Platanum, and Smasharoo begat Oorahsams, and Nobby begat Nacilbuper, and they did journey even so far as the land of Allakhazam, and Kaolian did raise his voice unto the Forum.

And on the ninth day, they did raise unto themselves graven images, and they did bow down before the Sock Puppets and there was a wailing and a down-rating of Karma.

This calls for wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is 10,000 posts.

Not for a looong time.

As I recall, when I did it was mostly Omaha (the turn always hated me) but some 7-stud (Murder always found me) or English Stud (let's not talk about showdowns). Never got any good at any of em. And was mostly playing against GI's so I have an inherent mistrust of you yanks Smiley: wink

Having taken a guided tour of very poor/wealthy/poor (rinse and repeat), married/divorced/lone parent, lucky/unlucky, I no longer gamble in any way (apart from getting out of the sack in the morning).

Now I just drink tea and warm beer and hatch plans to send Varus trojans via the forum.

Not old enough to vote (only 17) and wont be old enough to vote in the presidential elections, but if i were able to then i'd vote almost completely democratic.

all in all i cant say im too bummed about it. my vote wouldnt have made a big difference anyways. if california even gets close to going to bush then kerry isnt going to get anywhere near winning.

I am not sure about the US, but in canada we only get one vote, and we are not allowed to give fractional votes. 2/3 for Kerry, 1/4 for Bush, and give whatever is left over to the Green party, they have the best T-shirts don't ya know?

Democratic President, Republican Dog Catcher, Democratic State Senator etc. etc.

One ballot, many elections.

So all of your elections run at the same time? We have provincial, federal and civil elections seperate. Guess that is why I am confused. I never vote, so it shows what I know. Despite not voting, whoever I want to win always does, so I am going to stick with my method.

Oh I want Kerry to win, and I won't be voting so I like his chances.

Yup, it was a great system in 1790 so why change it now?

One election every two years for whoever's up for whatever office, completely varried by state.

One state might have a Senate race, one might not. One might have 17 ballot intiatives (questions that might be binding or non binding leading to laws or just elaborate oppinion polls) one might have none. One might be electing a govenor, one might not. One might have 98 candidates for President, one might have 8.

Well if Kerry cared about the Canadian Citizen vote I'm sure he'd agree with you. Smiley: oyvey
