In the gbaji thread I was thinking "How long have you been posting here"?

For me, I started playing EQ in 1999 (May or June don't remember which). I'm thinking that I actually started posting here in 2001 (so, obviously I was wrong on the 4 years thing gbaji... more like 3 for me and 2 (?) for you) under Grady Ravenbrook. I lost that username's email and forgot the password, so I switched up to Grady. I also posted under Zeldagis (which was my main after Paineel came out --- go go Erudite SK), occassionally attacking people and myself (hey, I used to not be above sockpuppetry).

I remember having good sized flame wars with Torm. God, she was a ***** back then (I've since got a healthy respect for her after she was in my guild). I remember the constant fanboi/hater fights in the main forum about EQ. The patch day whines (when Velious went live it was a ******* trainwreck in the main forum).

So, anyway, aside from how long you've been here, why have you stayed? For me, I went away for awhile and I really don't post all that much anymore, but this forum could make you smile on your ********* day at one time. Occassionally, you still get some good humor here and there, but it's not quite the same. However, I continued to post hers long after I quit EQ, and that's saying something.

It's so much easier to quit EQ than these forums.

Grady

I'veonly been around a coupla months. I come here for entertainment.

Sometimes I find food for thought, but I take everything with a grain of salt and a grin. That is what this place is for, right?

For me, it's the draw of wondering what topic is being discussed right now. Plus, you sort of come to know the people here, and it's like seeing friends whenever you want, without the need for the stupid obligatory chit-chat (although I'm not sure anyone here calls me a friend :P ).

Plus, it's something that is always changing, so that is always interesting.

True enough.

Seems I have a problem with quitting both though.

I started playing back in 99' as well. Started posting here (Old forms) shortly after I met Dalliance and Smasharoo in City of Mist. (2002?) Before that I had no idea that people actually used this site for anything other than information on EQ.

Why have I stayed?

Where else can I say, Look out! Goat!! and have it mean anything at all?

I guess I've stayed for my fans. I owe you all that

I've been posting here so long I can't remember. But those where the days that Tenkei Ruled. Is Cogmatix still around?

I was here when Allakhazam created the OOT because of folks like Delron, Cude and LJ.

I've left for a couple of 6 month breaks, come back to see who is still around and stay for awhile. Who knows when my next break will be. Might be soon if I don't get a custom title :)

Stok the Instigator :)

Anyway I only post in the Asylum because I stopped playing games when I opened the shop.

December 2001. I used Alla's EQ info areas for several months before I ventured into the EQ forums to ask some inane question I am sure was asked allready ten times that week. I didn't find OOT until I was bored one day at work several weeks after that. Now, like some sort of nasty STD I can't seem to get rid of I hang around here.

I'll never be much more than a second tier annoyance here but I am proud in the knowledge I can be an annoyance.

About 2 years for me. Originally posting on the old ubb boards since mid-2002 or so as Belhade, but switched to Debalic as it's my "main" character's name in respects of guild raiding.

I continue to post here to fill my spare time at work.

Cuda was so nasty, gods. Always good for a laugh, if you're into psychotic scat humor.

Heimdall and Emeldir(sp?) used to have Smash/gbaji-style fights about in-game stuff. Pretty entertaining just because they'd get so furious with each other and likely as not both be wrong.

Lady Julae and the whole "I'm a psychologist, well, a sex therapist, here's my soft-core **** site, well, okay I'm really a guy" drama. Good stuff, sock puppets pale by comparison. Except for Cuda's legions of puppets, because they were all just as sick and twisted as their master.

I think I was posting on the EQ forum since the UBB days. Periodically I'd pop over to the OOT boards to see if any of the threads looked interesting. I usually saw lots of circle jerking and "puppies or kittens" threads, so would leave again.

Eventually either a troll or boredom got the better of me.

Remember when Sir Avel got driven away from the board after he posted his fan fic? Was it Taco that did that?

Skeet already said to be Taeldar. If Thundra is Taeldar, Thundra ought to be ashamed.

Anyway, been on the forums since August 2000. I'll let every other old timer do my reminiscing for me. I stay because I'm used to it, folks know me, I can still get a decent answer to my EQ questions (though I answer far more than I ask these days) and enjoy the folks in the Asylum (previously known as Out of Topic). Plus, if I left, I'd have to get my mail forwarded and my utilities changed.

Stok, Cogmatix used to be a mod on Saryrn Tavern. He doesn't post there any more though from the few times I visit so my off the cuff answer is that he's probably retired.

I haven't been here that long, probably 3 or 4 months. I was posting in the FFXI forums (not the main forums of course, the job and race forums) a while before that, and a lot of last year I used the actual site content as a reference for when I played EQOA. I mainly stay here because it's a fun place, where you don't get in trouble for anything you say.

I think I have just about everyone here beat by at least a month, except for allakhazam and illia. Praetorian and Usna were the first big name posters I saw when I got here

As to katielynn's list there,
1. Tormentcia - have no idea what happened to her. She just up and disappeared one day, which seems uncharacteristic of a longtime poster
2. Merri and Angua - this is not likely for reasons I am not at liberty to discuss.
3. Thundra - I'm sure thundra will be back eventually
4. acidking - I have no idea who that even is.

and yes, skeet is Taeldar. I thought i already confirmed that one quite a while ago?

ok ok.... so the lesbians either split up, are in jail, or one killed herself. That doesnt mean they (which everone survived or isnt in jail) cant drop in and say hello!

Torm! God, she was a *****, I can only hope I ever become a tenth of the ***** she was.

Acidking, he IS the kewlest. I keep trying to talk him into coming back.

I have a sneaky feeling Thundra is still around but hiding by a huge facade of puppets. Ive got two in mind, but cant say.

I even miss the old AH. Man he was fun.

I seem to think I remember another female from way back when.... back during all the star farming. Oh how I miss my small crop of stars.
