On another totally unrelated note, I had a dream last night that Michael Jackson was president. He moonwalked and did part of the Smooth Criminal video during one of his speaches.

Ahhh yes, Knaak. He wrote some dragon-world thingie series. Dragons who changed to people and suchforth. I think the first two were good and he had a Dark Horse character who was void incarnate which is always a winner, but then it lost flavor with me. Even Mr. Horse became whiney and annoying.

Anyone ever played 'Kobalds ate my baby'?

Now thats a funny *** game!!

On the Salvatore/ FR books issue, i enjoy the Drizzt books but i recognise they are not they best novels in the world.

i attually enjoyed The wyvern's spur more than Azure Bonds, so much so that my present D&D toon is based on Giorgi.

However the Moonblade books are in my opinion the best of the FR books followed by the first of the Moonshae trilogy.

I am not a Wiez / Hickman fan appart from the Darksword set which was good.

Of all the TSR novels the Darksun novels where the most consistently good and the Dargonlance they most consistantly bad <appart from the dragons and twins books>

What about the Death Gate Cycle? That was freaky with those RUne-Covered folk and this bizarre plot-morphing. Weis and Hickman's best work I think.

I think it's a given that, when speaking of Dragonlance and saying it was good, you mean the first two trilogies and not the 3rd party refuse heaps that followed in its name.

I was never too keen on the Death Gate Cycle. Which is kind of ironic because I have a hardback of Fire Sea signed by Weiss and Hickman from a GenCon some 13 years ago. Anyway, it just didn't grab me. Big fan of the Rose of the Prophet trilogy however. The dark paladin guy inspired my first EQ shadowknight.

Tarv, should I trip acorss my copy of The Wyvern's Spur again, I'll give it a re-read and see. But you're not making me dredge through Song of the Sauriels again. No way, no how Smiley: wink

NE1 ever read George RR Martin A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE series. Great stuff, and your always on the edge of your seat. Never know who is going to get knocked off next or who get to live. As soon as you think you've fiqured out who is going to be the hero in the series, he gets whacked. Truely original story-line too. Check it out.

I liked The Death Gate Cycle. Was a bit much to understand the first time around, but after re-reading it, it made more sense.

It's been a while, so I'm a bit fuzzy, but wasn't it our world, years from now, and the gods decided we all suck, so they split the one world into 4, which were supposed to work together, but something went wrong?

I thought the world where everyone lived inside it was the best one. The necros rocked. :D
