Free iPod thing, scam or not?Follow

There's a Free iPods site that I've been referred to. If you sign up 5 folks in a pyramid scheme type deal you get a free iPod. I've been looking around and found some sites saying it's real, but I'm not too sure myself. You gotta sign up for an offer and get 5 other people to, but one of them is just to make an ebay account and bid on anything... and you don't have to win. Just bid on something you know you'll lose on.

It seems a bit flaky to me how they can get 6 losing bids on ebay equalling the cost of an iPod....

I bet someone with 6 accessable addresses could do it all themselves. I'd try it myself but I'm too lazy.

Anyone else seen this thing?

Well I'm already getting spam at my email address I created for just this and one other random free offer. So I'd use a throwaway account if anyone tries this.

scam as far as i can tell. i hit that for the free x-box, and after going though the exact same thing 3 times, i stopped. now i get spam from them on the e-mail account i gave. thankfully the account i gave has a nice spam blocker tool called spamassassin and after then 2nd e-mail all the rest have been dumped.
