I just like bashing San Francisco in general - and I know that people in LA tend to not have a very high opinion of SF as well.

Straight up Jealousy.

3 best cities to live in on the West Coast (IMO):

1) San Francisco
2) Seattle
3) Portland

I'm curious what do you bash about SF?

I think SF and LA have resumed diplomatic relations after a brief spell of SoCal/NorCal troubles.

The cities themselves have no issues. But.. San Diego can go fuck itself.

Yeah, Bend, Oregon....good old Oregon. I lived there once. They've pretty much hated all of California for forever. Nothing new there.

Diplomatic relations are occasionally suspended, however (by "occasionally" I mean "every time the Giants and Dodgers play each other").

And I was born in Sacramento, too - I've lived in Florida, Colorado, and Maryland as well. Meh. I hate most of this country, aside from anything south of about the Oregon-California border's line of latitude, because everything north of that line gets too damn cold.

Does he speak Spanish as well? I imagine that would be an asset for that job.

Depends- Mexican Spanglish or the Mother Tongue? Let's just say that he can defend himself north of Panama. Once he crossed over into Colombia it would all be over.

Just a blurb off a CNN story about some guy the government caught and how he helped Osama communicate over the net:

U.S. sources said Khan told interrogators al Qaeda uses Web sites and e-mail addresses in Turkey, Nigeria and tribal areas of Pakistan to pass messages among themselves.

Is it just me or does the idea of web servers hosting sites and addresses in "tribal areas of Pakistan" remind you of those old IBM commercials with some African kids in a mud hut chatting with some schoolchildren in Canton, Ohio?

I blame IBM for global terrorism.

Who the fuck took the time to run a land line out to tribal areas of Pakistan? Sat connections can't upload, so... What the hell?

I'm bringing over some natives from an island in Lake Titicaca down for a festival. I can't get a working phone # for this guy, he has no real address, but boy is he responsive to email. I love that he takes his boat out over the lake to Bolivia every second day to check his email and his website.
