Grammar is important. If it wasn't for grammar then nothing would make sense and we would be all like Skaterr Gnome of Casters' Realm legend. Read the book Eats, Shoots, and Leaves. It's actually a surprisingly good read. By the way... I apologise from the bottom of my heart for any grammar/spelling mistakes I have made here. I love you all.

This thread is what happens when you bait the FFXI board while bored.

Hrm, I am an FFXI Playar and a EVE Player. Furthermore I have played my Trial TIme in EQ. What you have to take into consideration is that FFXI is a very Young Game.

You will find that "younger" MMO's are usually not as polished, do not have as much of a "Dedicated Fanbase", and generally are very much unlike the Endproduct of their Career.

It would be like comparing US History to European History. In time, the Game will mature, The Players will be weeded out and FFXI will be up to par with EQ, maturity wise, at least.

For now i will have to agree, that alot of Rabble from the ******* PS2 NA Crowd is present in FFXI. (And yes, i do say it like that)

Quantity of users does not indicate quality of users. I'm an FFer, but I get tired of the endless sea of ****** players and /shout arguments between 13-year-olds. On the other hand, since I tried FFXI first, when I tried out EQ I was repelled quite violently by the monstrous graphics and debilitating control setup.

I hate to break the news to you, but Final Fantasy games suck. They have always been awful and they will continue to be terrible. I understand that some people just have a fascination with all things Japanese but couldn't you at least be fascinated with something moderately entertaining? Like tenticle ****?

Having seen the game and played it briefly I'll throw out this opinion. It's terrible. I have a friend that plays it, he likes it, that's fine. It doesn't change that it's a piece of shit.

Regarding the posters from FFXI: For the most part, they've been idiots. They are the kind of cheetoh eating dumbfucks that you'd expect to play a game of this caliber. They've set the bar low and continue to underacheive, against all odds.

The poster with the quote above is a perfect example of the mentatlity of the FFXI player. "It's better because more people play it". Really? Is it? Just because you've got hundreds of thousands of Japanese players doesn't make it a great game. Have you seen some of the trash that comes out of Japan? Oh, you have... you're playing it. Besides, Lineage had well over a million players (most of them Korean)... does that make it a better game than EQ? Nope.

The simple fact is that as much as I think EQ has become a piece of shit through mismanagement and poorly implemented expansions, it's still far better than the competition. I play City of Heroes. It's not as good as EQ was but it's a much better casual game. EQ is the most immersive game ever put out. Even with dated graphics and poorly implemented expansions it's still far more immersive than the competition. As far as MMORPG's go, there is no competition for EQ... there are just games that are trying to recreate it with better graphics and a few different options.

So, I'm happy to say you think you're playing a good game. I'm even happy that you've figured out the wonders of the intraweb. It's great. But don't come here and tell people that there's nothing wrong with FFXI players. You're proving the point of the people that dislike you en masse when you have 170+post arguments over why you're "okay".

In short, go eat your cheetohs and play your game or just kill yourselves. Thanks.

Everyone but you seems to like at least one of the Final Fantasy games. They are great games imho.

I'm happy for you. You're also the person that prefers "Dude, Where's My Car?" to "Star Wars". Forgive me if you don't strike me as an authority on good taste. Then again, maybe you really are stupid enough to beleive that Anchorman and Dude, Where's My Car? are classic cinema.

And if everquest is such a "superior" game why does it take idea's from FFXI? The whole new Endurance system? Idea came from FFXI with their Weapon Skills and specific job ablities.

First of all, EQ has stolen from several games. Secondly, every single MMORPG has stolen from its competition and the previous game. There's nothing earth shattering about the endurance system, it's shown up in games well prior to FFXI being a bad idea.

FFXI is a better all-around game than everquest ever was.

Yes. Thanks for reading. Even with those problems, and everything has problems nothing is perfect, it's by far a better and more immersive game than FFXI will ever be.

Just because you couldn't figure out how to play this game doesn't make your opinion the right one.

Anyone who's every played any MMORPG can figure out FFXI, especially those who have played EQ. It's a direct rip off. The interface sucks, the graphics are pretty, but the game is devoid of immersion and lacking any sort of fun factor. As an added bonus, it's in a ridiculously gay setting.

What you need to do is get off your daddy's lap, pull up your pants and go cry somewhere else.
