That is poor logic though, PP. Jesus engaged in commerce, had a tradeskill, and acknowledged the Roman government. There are no parallels there. Moreover, his ideas for what are commonly though of as socialized politics were for his believers, not the general populace.

Bullshit. He also threw the MoneyChangers our of the Temple, pleaded with the rich to give their money away, held no "Real" possesions, shared everything will his followers....etc etc...

Don't argue with the Grandson of a Preacher Man.

Republican and True Christianity don't mix.

I have you trumped. I am the son of a preacherman. The money changers were making their living off of the temple, not the local economy. The rich were encouraged to give their possessions away to facilitate the growth of their faith, rather than relying on themselves. It was not a template for society at large. Caring for widows and orphans was because of the patriarchal society they lived in, where no family or male kinfolk meant no birthright, thus no standing in the future of Israel.

Jesus clearly acknowledged the primacy of the Roman governor and Roman law by declaring that he had no power that wasn't given to him by the Father and to the Pharasees that they were to give unto Caesar what was Caesar's and unto God what was God's.

It is a misconception that Jesus advocated overturning society and its' traditions for some kind of commune or hippy-based society.

I don't know them, please speak them for us all, so that we may not speak of them, and therefore, they will be unspoken.

Yeah, and if they didn't they'd all be killed. We can give examples from the Bible all day long to prove any point...that's the beauty of it.

I still think it's ludicrous to say that Republican ideology is MORE christian than Democratic Ideology.

And you KNOW this...you are just arguing.
