Who's given the best speech at the DNC so far? Barack Obama? Bill Clinton? John Edwards? Theresa Kerry? Ron Reagan, Jr? Other?

Personally, I still think Clinton's was the best. Good pacing. Excellent lines. Good humor. The man does exude charisma (and a milky white substance on blue dresses...). For a neophyte, Obama's address was spectactular as well. Edwards was okay. He didn't pace himself very well. Theresa Kerry I could live without having her speak in public again. Ron Reagan, Jr. ... you can see a bit of his father in his speaking, but overall, it wasn't a great speech.

How do you think Kerry's speech will be tonight. I'll say it will be good, but not great.

Clinton's was the best oratory by far. Regan's was the best content.

Clinton takes the prize thus far. He's a good speaker and has good empathy for working a crowd.

Kerry wins the best lines: People who extoll family values need to value families and I won't say that God is on our side, I'll pray humbly that we're on God's side. Pretty decent speech overall.

The guy doesn't exude charisma, but he does have pretty good speechwriters.

I thought they staged Kerry's speech pretty well. His approach to the stage was pretty State-of-the-Union-esque and having him hug his band of brothers warmed his image up a bit. The actual speech was too rushed, but he did better than I expected.

Bob Shrum, baby.

Clinton had the best line. "Stregnth and wisdom are not opposing values."

Tough call - Gotta go with a tie between Clinton and Obama's speeches. However, Kerry's speech last night was sincere, heartfelt, and effective. The reference to Lincoln's quote was awesome "I'll pray humbly that we're on God's side."

I also like his views on bi-partisanship (working with qualified folks on both sides of the aisle). If the nimrods in Washington would reach common ground on the issues then maybe they would actually accomplish things.

Anyhoo, I think he's the guy to get our country back on track. He's got my vote. Smiley: yippeeSmiley: clap

BTW, I'm really interested in checking out Al Sharpton's speech at the DNC in its entirety, but C-Span doesn't have it on their site. I did the Google search with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. I heard he went off the script and rocked the joint.
