What you stated is what Repulicans are strictly against. They want people to fully succeed but do it on your own without the handouts of others. You appreciate things more if you work for them more than if they were handed to you.

Truth hurt? I don't see people asking for handouts, by and large. I do see people that want an opportunity to succeed no matter where they come from. What we have now are a few people that succeed despite their social standing and a whole lot of people that don't succeed because of their social standing, but not from lack of trying.

I'm tired of the GOP posters trying to put on a front like they give a **** about anyone else. They simply don't. They want to keep their money and everyone else be damned. They want to put their morals and values on everyone else and the individuals morals and values be damned. It's all *********

If you really cared about people you'd be asking yourself why corporate profits are up 87%, but wage increases are still under inflation. You'd ask yourself: what have we done to make our workers a liability instead of an asset? You might even wonder why a poor person's life is worth less than a privledged person. Or even, why is the middle class disappearing and wealth is being concentrated in the hands of a few?

But you won't bother asking those questions, or even answering them. That would require that you look in the mirror and face the reality that you're nothing more than a selfish prick that doesn't really want anyone else to succeed, or even have the opportunity to succeed. They might get in your way.

The issue isn't how many people he pardoned, it's the nature of the people he pardoned. The tax dodger and his wife bearing gifts of gold plated saxaphones are a prime example of that. While it may be perfectly legit for Clinton to pardon him, it once again showed supremely poor judgement to actually hand it out to someone who owed millions to the IRS. It's the ecomony, stupid. And millions of dollars weren't paid. Tax dollars, Smash. That should get your blood boiling!

Would you like me to start the littany of people pardoned by Republicans, including child rapists?

Let me know, it's up to you. Or can we just agree it's something all Presidents do.

It's pretty easy to "lead" a country to the heights of economic prosperity when all you have to do is hold the tiller straight and let the good work that 12 years of correct thinking leadership put in place run its course.

I see. Phew. Glad we agree that Bush didn't "inherit" a ressesion from Clinton and that instead it was due to 12 years of Republican leadership.

Thanks for clarifying your position there.

No, it's worse than that.

The GOP posters loose money by vorting for the GOP candidates. What they are voting for is for them to get to keep their money when they become rich someday, which is of course more difficult the longer the GOP is in power.

It's tragic, really.

No, no, Smash. Think of all those poor disenfranchised people Clinton sold out in the process of pardoning Marc Rich {approriate last name, dontcha think?). Think of the millions of people he wounded by shorting the system of the benefits of those dollars. Think of how he did not pay his fair share of the tax burden and Clinton just let him off the hook for the price of a gold plated saxaphone!

The hypocrisy! The travesty! Oh, the hungry stomachs that went unfilled because of Clinton's greed! Oh, the brains that went uneducated because of Clinton's appetites!

And these are the same Democrats who are outraged by the Republicans who supposedly are letting the wealthy slide through life without paying their fair share, but here we have an example of a Dem doing worse by complicitly agreeing with Republican tax policy and winking at a criminal at the same time. And here you are defending it! At the very least, Clinton should have cruise missles into Switzerland and taken Rich out (so that no American's lives were sacrificed in this military operation).

I have an idea why don't I give all my money to you smash so you can determine how best to use it to help mankind. Commy socialist pigs enjoy spending other peoples money but when it comes to their own they are stingier than the grinch. I've got an idea why not let the person or business that makes the money determine how they want to spend it, imagine that.

I watched the whole thing also Smash, and I must say that I agree with you. Clinton is by no means my favorite person in the world, nor do I like hime very much personally, but he is damn good at what he does.

He is a great speaker and could charm the skin off a snake. He is by far the best politician of his generation, hell, maybe any generation.

Um, yes, he started a war unilaterally. I think it fairly unlikely that any of the other "coalition" "partners" would have invaded as a group without the US, don't you?

Word, and also the amount of pressure the U.S. put on its allies to force them to join the coalition of the willing.

Threats of cutting foreign aid, military support, raising tariffs, etc were all used. Now look at this list of the coalition and think how many of the countries outside of europe that could afford to be on the angry side of US foreign aid policy.

United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Netherlands,Iceland, Italy, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Albania, Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Croatia, Slovenia, Ukraine, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Philippines, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Solomon Islands, Mongolia, Palau, Tonga, United States of America, El Salvador, Colombia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Honduras, Australia, Kuwait, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Angola.

Also look at Canada who refused to join the coalition, Softwood lumber ban takes affect, mad cow ban on canadian beef extended, relations start to get shakey, US pays more attention to canadian legislation and threaten to tighten borders due to some possible canadian laws that were in the work, there was also ineffectual grumbling about US not helping canada if attack or terrorist attack was done upon canadian soil. The softwood and beef ban cost Canada billions.

Now think if your Afghanistan and you decide to disagree with the war and not join the coalition and US pull out troop and funding where are you? thats right F'ucked. Same for the majority of small name countries that joined in order for the US to pad and thicken the list of the coalition so they could say they had 50+ countries that agree with them.

Edit- Say whatever you want about Clinton and his personal life but his administration was pretty solid, economy was great. Some people will nitpick about small stuff or fall down and start attacking him for personal stuff like the fact that he is a horn dog, but the fact he is not the president who got everything thanks to daddy, that ruined every business he ran, that ruined the economy, that started an unjust war against international law, that started a unjust war that killed over 10k civilians, whose administration likes stripping americans of there rights in order to make them more secure, whose 1 trillion dollar tax cut went overwhelmingly to the rich, who suppresses scientists in government positions from speaking out in fear of losing there jobs.

I dunno as ive said before i rather have a president whose vice is a healthy love of getting a BJ or even one that throws like a girl than one that kills innocents, has the grammar of a mildly retarded man, and gives tax breaks and bows down to the corporate elite who also happen to be his friends and family.

I watched it and I have to agree. Clinton is the best public speaker of our generation. His speach was dead on too. It set out exactly the difference between today's Republicans and Democrats. It's a shame that only the already committed likely tuned in to hear it.

You mean only the already brainwashed likely tuned into it. Face it only the radical left are really paying any attention to it. Dean, Gore, Barabara Boxer, Feinstein, and hitlary don't exactly engender themselves with the undecided independents. With the exception of people like me that enjoy watching those evil sob's weave their webs of deceit.

That's the best part of this election!

The undecideds are all going to break for Kerry regardless of what he says or does. The undecideds voted for Bush in '00 because he presented himself as a pro-education consensus builder with moderate views on social issues. Having had four years to see the reality of an overly religous, exploitive government in action, they're not going to make the same mistake again.

It's Bush's very unwillingness to compromise which is going to get the most liberal President since FDR elected.

Man I can't wait untill Kerry gets to appoint SCOTUS justices.

Bye bye Defense of Marrige Act, bye bye faith based charity funding, bye bye stem cell ban, bye bye tax cuts for the ultra rich.

It's going to be a great year in '05.

Smash dont get cocky, by saying something along the lines of "bush would never get re-elected for 2nd term" your ensuring his victory.

Its the same as sayin "what is the worst that could possibly happen" thus ensuring that something bad happens. Its karma and a dash of Murphy's Law.

Let's not forget the endearing pictures of Prescott Bush eating diner with Hitler and Eichman in '40.

Heh. I'd like to add something. I'm not nearly as concerned with who either potential president appoints to SCOTUS, as I am with who they'll appoint as the next Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board.

It'll be Ferguson if Kerry wins. If Bush wins, it'll probably still be Ferguson actually, but he is a Democrat so they might block it on partisan grounds I guess. He's handpicked by Greenspan thought, so I wouldn't be overly worried.

Although if old greeny dies unexpectedly the markets probably loose 3 or 4 percent in sympathy that every day.
