This is simply not a political force worth following.

Right, a group of people with wealth and the spare time to follow politics intimately are a poor choice.

Full time mid level IT workers, however, are at the vanguard of political insight.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Wow Gbaji, you make them sound like a bunch of shallow air-heads!!
Don't get me wrong, I don't totally disagree with everything you said. Movie stars, or Artists if you prefer, are far too revered in the US.

Have you ever seen many of the "politically active" actors/singers in interviews or on shows like Politcally Incorrect? I'm serious. I make them sound like airheads because many of them *are* airheads. Ok. Maybe that's a bit harsh. It's more like ignorante of real world politics. You've got to remember that a lot of these celebrities live in a very different world then you or I. They don't hang out at the watercooler at work, or go out to the local eatery and hang out with "real people". Many of them literally live in a world that's populated only by other celebrities. The intellectual/social equivalent of inbreeding is pretty rampant. An already left leaning group becomes more so because virtually everyone they have contact with is also strongly left. Over time, you end up with a group of people who on average are so out of touch with what real people really care about it's ridiculous. Meanwhile, they've got every liberal group in the world attempting to get them to sign on (read: give donations) to their cause and filling their heads even more with bizaare psuedo-political issues.

It really is scary. The Sean Penn's of the world are amazingly out of touch with what's really going on, but still feel the need to take the opportunity to speak on their pet issues every time they get in front of a mic. Guess what? Sometimes, they get told by their audiences exactly how out of touch they are. This is what happened to Rondstat. It's not really that surprising.

But you paint them all with a very broad judgmental brush. Maybe you're forgetting that quite a few of them have actually crossed over into politics. Or were/are they all air-heads too?

This is true. They're not all like that. In fact, it's probably just a small percentage of all celebrities that are like that. However, the ones who make politically charged statements to their audiences are pretty likely to be in the group I'm talking about. Those who do keep their politics private aren't the ones we ever hear about, so it really doesn't matter. There's also a difference between those who go into politics, and those who just spout off about politics. The former usually comes about because the individual does have a good head on his/her shoulders, and a sense of what people actually want (and maybe even an idea or two about how to do it). The latter would be disasters as candidates for anything, for exactly the reason they are sometimes booed off stages for their extreme political statements. I'm clearly talking just about the latter...

Wow. You buy tickets to read what I have to say here Smash? I need to fire my manager, cause I don't see a trailer with a star on the freaking door!

Can you get a little more irrelevant?

Eh. They have free speach Smash. I never once said that they couldn't speak their minds. I'm commenting about the impression that somehow their corporate sponsors are being "evil", or infringing on that right when the pull their sponsorship as a result.

You have the freedom to say any damn thing you want. But with that comes the responsibility for the results of your speach. Some liberals seem to think that you should be able to do anything you want with no consequences at all. Sad. Out of touch. Typically liberal...
