Ok maybe it was in jest, and maybe i'm an idiot for not spotting that, but even joking about it is sick.

i did consider take the "utter ****" comment out, but i don't really wanna go back on what i said, and joph is still disgusting.

I'm not sure how joking about someone who is HIV positive is worse than joking about somoene who isn't HIV positive.

By 'protecting' these people so vigorously, Dracoid, maybe you'r revealing a bit of inner fear of their condition? You'll have to answer that for yourself; it's a question, not an accusation.

*IF* I were HIV postive, I wouldn't want such special treatment and protection. I'd want equality. Equality means you get the same treatment as everyone else. And that includes a little ribbing from time to time.

Joph's statement didn't really seem out of line to me. Even if it were made with no jest at all in mind, such a statement could be just an honest assessment of the situation. 'One of us is going to be paying to treat a sick and dying person for the next five to ten years. Better you than me.'

Ease up on the sensitivity training, bub.

Thats not waht i said, if you called someone with aids a d1ck, and someone without aids a d1ck, that would be the same, but to joke about someone BECAUSE they have aids, thats what joph did.

Everyone gets joked about something. If you have a big head, be prepared for a joke or two about it. If you weigh 400 lbs., fat jokes are headed your way. Racial jokes are prevalent, but those are generally 'inside jokes' told about someone instead of in their presence. I don't see how HIV jokes are any better or worse than the above examples. People joke about stuff. If I weigh 400 lbs, the least of my worries is somebody making a wisecrack about it. If I have a condition such as HIV which usually leads to AIDS and death, somebody making a funny at my expense is WAY down the list on my worries.

Step 1: Unclench
Step 2: Slowly and gently remove the stick
Step 3: Apply salve
Step 4: Enjoy life

i see what your saying, lets take the 400lbs as an example, there is the jokes such as: your'e so fat when you get cut, you bleed gravy, and there are the ones like: the immigration minister for canada says that fat people should be allowed in to canada, but don't come to american because we don't want your type around here thank you very much.
