I can't remember the last time I actually got to go out for a movie. Now we have to wait for them to come out on video. Which is usually only 2 weeks...

This thread has given me ideas for what to rent or not rent when it becomes available though.

As a matter of fact I do, he runs in the same circles as a couple of my friends in L.A. Hell, my good friend that cuts my hair was River's girlfriend for years.

Anyway, that's beside the point....

Like I say, he's doing fine hare-lip and all.

I think the real question is:

Does anyone really lust after Chlöe Sevigny? Besides this person?

Spiderman 2 was the last movie I've seen at the theater. Worth the money and very enjoyable. Of course, I'm a long-time comic geek...

I'll be waiting for Anchorman to come out on DVD - I'm sure the extra stuff will make it worth the rental.

Last week we rented 50 First Dates with Adam Sandler & Drew Barrymore (actually was a decent flick with some great silly humor - Rob Schneider makes that film), The Rundown with The Rock, Sean William Scott and the great Christopher Walken - Surprisingly fun film (of course, Walken makes any film worth watching), and The Hulk with Jennifer Connelly and Eric Bana. Well, it could have been better but it didn't put me to sleep either.

We're picking up Starsky & Hutch on DVD tonight. Any other DVD suggestions? Has Aegisfang come out with any new goat **** titles lately?

Both of them, eh?

3 Kings is one of my favorite movies. Especially as it keeps becoming more and more relevant.

F 9-11 meh, watch the 24 Hour New chanel for 2 hours if you care that much, go to a movie if you want to be entertained.

I, Robot, A fun summer movie with cool fights and a few chuckle worthy jokes. Would have gotten good reviews if it would have been named "Generic Will Smith Futuristic Robot bonaza!" But instead they decided to drag Asimovs corpse out of it's grave and make it dance for our amusment. But go see it, just pretend you missed the title.

Spiderman 2, An even better fun summer movie with cool fights and a few chuckle worthy jokes.

I too am eargly anticipating The Village the 30th!

They didn't just drag his body out of the grave and make it dance they raped the poor guy in every orafice available. I wonder if anything beyond the title occurs in the book.

Similarities between the book and movie.

Title.
Three Laws.
Set in the future.
Here there be Robots.
Protagonist is a Detective.
Robots killing Robots (That one is a stretch)

Thats about it, I'm sure if I watched the movie again I could find a few more but why bother.

I think I'm going to go see 'The Life of Brian' at this theater down the street. (God bless Portlan).

If you can't find anything you want to see in the theater try renting 'Citizen Kane.'

My review of I, Robot

So, I know I read the book a very long time ago, but for the life of my I can't remember a thing about it. I know I read this in high school when I was really into Sci-Fi books, but I have a voracious appetite for reading, but a poor memory when it comes to a lot of the books I've read. That said, this movie was so so. I do know that it was loosely inspired by the Asimov book. I have a feeling that the only real ties to the book were the title and the 3 laws of robotics. Visually it was quite nice. Interesting and plausible vision of the future, lots of CGI, which is to be expected for these types of movies nowadays, and the obligatory good looking cast members.

But, as a movie, it was alright. If you really want to see a movie and the one that you were hoping to go to was sold out, then you might fall back onto this, but it's not a must see movie at all. If you really wanted to, you could try to have an intellectual discussion on the pros and cons on the ethics of AI in computers/robots, but that would be about it. One other thing that I found really funny was that I thought the lead actresses wardrobe consisted mostly of what looked like duct tape fashions. The vision of the future should include duct tape coats for all!

In theatres:

I saw The Notebook, the other weekend. A definite chick flick, and a bit predictable, but pretty strong stuff nonetheless.

At least that's what the 300 lb linebacker sitting behind us said while blowing his nose and weeping openly.

Well worth the ticket price, especially if you're a guy trying to impress a girl with how sensitive you are to get her into bed. Of course, the whole sensitive thing could backfire and you could end up with a "Just Hold Me" night. Don't say I didn't warn you.

On DVD : American History X. Awesome movie. I love Edward Norton.

Best scene in the movie hands down is when he's standing in the street, arms outstretched, absolutely mad after he's killed the kid.

Notting Hill. Another chick flick, but the roommate's tshirts are worth the viewing, even if you aren't into the whole chick flick phenomena.

Front side: "You are the most beautiful woman in the world."
Back side: "Fancy a f*ck?"
