I always wished i had played EQ or at least tried it out. I dont think that ill try the 30 free trial, ive kinda given up on MMOGs.

I was pumped for WoW but i figured that its popularity might lead it to becoming something like FFXI which is a great game but not the best community.

Seems like Ronaldz the original poster heard the advice for the free trial though so the rest are just a bunch of goofs arguing back and forth.

Thanks for the post Allakhazam, I am going to have to try EQ. FFXI is kind of getting on my nerves. I am probably going to drop it for another couple of months. I like the game, but I am hearing alot of patches that just destroy the game play. I haven't even looked at an advanced class yet, and I am hearing how nurfed the Dragoon (my favorite class from FF4 and FF5), Beastmaster, and Summoner.

I've run into more newbies the last few weeks in EQ than I have in a long time. The free trial is bringing a lot of new people in. So if you guys wanted to play, I don't think you'd be totally alone at the lower levels. Especially if you start on Morden Rasp server.

EQ has its issues, no one will dispute that. But I've quit I don't know how many times, and I keep coming back. It's not perfect, but it doesn't exactly suck. Just really time consuming.

I quit EQ four months ago and haven't looked back. Maybe I will someday, but whenever I get tempted I remember all the irritating groups I have to put up with, and the SLOOOOOOW leveling. 58 is my limit I think.

Bah.

Tare, I played some while I was pregnant. Helped to pass the time since I wasn't working. But of course, after I had my son, there was only enough computer time to check email.

Now I either play soloing classes, so I can go AFK at a moments notice if my son needs something (or has set the cats on fire), or I wait til he's asleep to play my cleric for grouping.

I'm just a video game junky, hehe.

Funny, I quit EQ as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Hehe. Yeah, maybe a new toon is the ticket. I'm sick of playing my shammy. I just hate the idea of leveling another up. It's so time consuming. My husband says that it's a rewarding process but I don't see it. Lol!

I like games, but right now I'm back to reading and writing as entertainment. Perhaps after the baby comes I'll head back to EQ. =)

I have a little shammy on MR. I didn't realize so many people from here had alts there. I might try to log her on this weekend.

I have a shammy, ranger and chanter. They are all fun in different ways, but they are sadly lacking in equipment or ability. Poor toons.

Smiley: lol

I'm with Aude Sarpere, a pretty casual guild mainly of Alla folks from the EQ forum. The median level of active characters is probably around 20-25. It's been a fun time: all good folk and we keep busy. A nice change for me from the 65 Bard game, anyway.

I quit EQ for the 2nd time (first time was when Dark Ages of Camelot came out - I went back 6 months later) when I got hooked into City of Heroes. I've just gotten back into CoH now that we are up and running again on DSL in our new home. It's still a fun game but I'm not quite as sucked in as I was with EQ.

I figured at the time I quit EQ that I would just hop onto World of Warcraft when it comes out when/if I get bored with CoH, but WoW won't likely be out anytime soon (last I heard was maybe by December, could be wrong). Anyhoo, I miss the fantasy setting.

I'm missing my EQ characters on Firoina Vie and E'ci servers. I guess the things keeping me away from EQ is the time-sink, the lack of comrades that I used to play with (since they all left EQ as well), and I'm not sure if I really want to try convincing my wife that we can play both EQ and CoH.

Then again, the EQ hunger grows stronger...

No, Joph. You've co-opted my love of Hope Sandoval. Now you're stealing my online identity in a game. It's a shameful display of hero worship on your part.

Be your own person. You're good enough, smart enough, and gosh darn it... people will like you as yourself.
