What exactly is a sock puppet? Is it a follower?... someone who can't speak for themselves? I see it being thrown around here a lot. I am guessing it has lost it's original meaning just like the "noob" phrase because it is way overused. Which is ironic if that is what it means because you are following a crowd by using the term.

A sockpuppet is an alternate account used typically to troll the board without getting your main account in trouble or else to agree with your main account and make your main look better.

ah ok... that's kind of silly

I was deemed one when I first accidently posted in here thinking it was the out-of-topic forum which I had a little over 200 posts at the time.

A sockpuppet is someone that hides their identity. Some do it for fear their opinions may bring reprisal in rl others just don't want any of their personal info on the net. Considering most people that I've seen on the net are raging liberals I like the fact that they have no idea who I am.

Well, I mean.. c'mon. If you're stupid enough to post enough personal info on the net for folks to find you, you deserve what you get. Saying you're sockpuppeting because you're afraid of "raging liberals" finding you is the most retarded excuse ever given for using a puppet. Basicly, Varrus has been called out on his apparent puppet status and is trying to spin it so it's okay for him to hide behind another account.

Varrus is a textbook sockpuppet. He posts intentionally inflammatory material in order to rile people up. Except he's very obvious about it so no one takes him seriously. It is fun to respond to him though and watch his lack of logical thought take hold. Smiley: grin

No I post material that is representative of my conservative libertarian ideology. Now being as most of the people that post here are raging liberals that does tend to inflame them but that's an after effect.

I find varuss to be one of the most level-headed people here.

And you come to a forum called The Assylum looking for posts with logical thought?
