It's just smoke to take some heat off GWB for his unpopular decision to involve us in Iraq.

It also tends to help reinforce the link in the sheople's minds that Iraq was part on 9-11.

I'm not saying it was or wasn't but I haven't seen anything to convince me it was. You may as well say France was responsible and have the same amnount of proof.

However, since we're so terrible at geography, the middle east just gets lumped together as one whole big bunch of camel humpers in the minds of the sheople.

So, if you make a little noise about a guy who worked for CLinton taking home documents about 9-11 and this guy also happens to be helping Kerry....well, it takes some heat off GWB.

That's my take on the situation.

It's the papers that keep bringing up the tie in to Clinton. Hell Drudge had a headline stating Clinton and Co. where laughing over the matter. Goes to show you how important National Security was to that Cigar Licker.

Drudge hardly counts as a "newspaper". Drudge only barely qualifies as news.

And many of the stories on there are worthless, inaccurate or come from questionable sources, which was my point. If I want news from a newspaper I'll actually go read a newspaper. So far I haven't seen too much about Clinton laughing in the Tribune.

Really, all the articles I've read don't mention Clinton at all except in the phrases "Clinton administration", "Clinton offical", etc to say when he was working in the administration. I don't think I've seen Bill Clinton come up at all in the paper.

Indeed. If you have links, feel free to share so I can admit fault.

Incidently, the article from Drudge headlined "Clinton Defends Berger: 'We were all laughing about it' " actually reads (in part):

Bill Clinton defended his embattled national security adviser Tuesday as a man who "always got things right," even if his desk was a mess.

"We were all laughing about it on the way over here," the former president said of the investigation into Samuel "Sandy" Berger on classified terrorism documents missing from the National Archives. "People who don't know him might find it hard to believe. But ... all of us who've been in his office have always found him buried beneath papers."

Gee.. Clinton says he was laughing at the memory of how much paper the guy kept on his desk as one sentance of an article about him defending Berger. That's headline news for you.

Funny that Drudge didn't headline it "Clinton Defends Berger: He was a man who 'always got things right' ". Any question as to why I roll my eyes when people cite Drudge as a news source?

All of which misses the point. If he removed clasified documents without going through the procedures for legitimately doing so, he could very well be facing criminal charges. The thing is, if it's true, he should have known better.

Actually, that is my point. Varrus took a story about someone potentially removing classified documents and an investigation...

...and used it as a pretext to say something as witty at "Hitlary" Smiley: rolleyes

No that is Drudge Headline News.

The dude stole papers out of the National Archives, and the Democrats are laughing about the situation as though it was an honest mistake? Oh please have them stop spinning, it's making me dizzy.

Try again, there, Sparky. They were laughing about how messy his DESK WAS. Not about whether or not he stole classified documents.

One thing that continues to amaze me is the obvious agenda of the left leaning media. You have a former national security advisor for clinton, and current campaign advisor for kerry and all the media can think to print is how this might affect bergers chance to be in kerrys cabinet. Hell this guy might be doing time in the pen and it's page 17 story.

Also why isn't anyone in the media asking about the nature of the contents that were stolen?

Hava you read any of the articles written? The man took highly classified "code word" material. One of the documents was a draft of the After Action Report for CLintons response to a terrorist event. Other documents where in regard to terrorism as well. The documents are extremely sensitive toward National Security. This stuff came out as part of the news leak.

Sheesh.

He took some of HIS OWN HANDWRITTEN NOTES. That's it. Nothing will come of this, as much as Republicans would love to waste a few more million dollars persuing criminal charges with no basis against a democrat, it's not going to happen.

This has been ongoing since OCTOBER OF LAST YEAR. Oddly it only gets leaked to the press around the Democratic Convention.

How odd.

I'm sure some socialist Justice Depeartment apointee leaked it to the left wing media.

It's meaningless.

No Smash. He took draft reports and his own written notes. He violated national security laws and you say this is a non issue. Of course we only know what ahs been leaked, but this has the potential to be a serious issue.

Want to take my $1,000 wager that he didn't violate any national security laws?

I'm budgeting about $30,000 to play in a bunch of events next year. In all likelyhood I'll loose every penny.

If you want to actually know what's going on with the berger snatcher read the following article.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A4189-2004Jul21?language=printer

Yes the information was leaked at this time. But it could just have been witheld until the 911 commission was over. The point is you're back to basing your ideas on speculation and inuenda.

BERGER WAS A NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR THAT STOLE CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS IN ORDER TO PROTECT ANYTHING THAT MIGHT HARM CLINTONS LEGACY, SPECIFICALLY REGARDING TERRORISM.

I'm shocked none of the liby commy bastards are responding to this. Guess it kind of puts their hero clinton in a bad light and all especially considering hitlarys going to be making a run in 4 years after w is through.
