Hey guys, if you haven't heard about this movie please take at a look at this link:

http://www.mariafullofgrace.com/main.html

The film is about a Columbian woman who decides she is going to work as a drug mule to help her family. Basically she must transport capsules of heroin by ingesting little balloons with the pills inside. This movie won the audience award at Sundance Film Festival and will most likely be nominated for best foreign film at the Oscars. And BTW my girlfriend is in it. The pictures from the website are not too good since she plays a pregnant mother in a poor neighborhood. Here are some pics from the NY premiere a few days ago. Her name is Patricia Rae, the woman in the black dress:

If you can please go out and support this film. Its a really powerful and touching film. (In spanish with english subtitles).

LOL sorry Tare I kind of figured that was coming. I think I vastly oversimplified it so......shes a really poor pregnant woman that lives in a tiny one bedroom apartment with 4 people in NYC and despite her compassion towards others is not one to put predominance on her looks but rather place her family and helping others first. I think that about explains it.

Just an FYI. This film is not scheduled for nationwide release until July 30. It is only playing on 7 screens in NY and LA but it did take in $125,000 in the opeing weekend on those 7 screens so it did quite well.

Well, I guess that reduces my chances of catching it here in good ol' Alabama to about zero. Ah well, someone let me know how it is.

Is this her first movie?

It is her first movie that she receives top billing in. She had a small role in Swim Fan and has been on TV shows CSI, Malcolm in the Middle, Alias and a few others I don't recall off the top off my head. She also was in another small Indie film called Nightstalker about serial killer Richard Ramirez. Based on the demand I think this movie will get much more national exposure after its Nationwide release next week.

Cool man, I hope she makes a name for herself. I will keep an eye out for Patricia Rea, or Patricia Fignewton, depending upon future developments. :)

Out of curiosity, what was her role in Swim Fan?

She was the nurse at the home where that Madisons ex had stayed. She was in the film for about 2-3 min with 6-7 lines, nothing major.
