Ok, I have heard that mIRC is a great file-swapping method, but I cannot figure out how to use it!! I have tried everything I can think of, even tried entering chat rooms just to ask how to use the stupid thing. Nothing. Can anyone help me out here?

Of course, I don't want to actually do any file-swapping, I just want to know how. ;)

Well I want to swap, AND I want to know how. Can anyone make an "IRC for Dummies" post? BTW I would make this post in the OOT to be honest.

Connect to EFNet, or any other net really.

Do a channel list (there's an icon in mIRC or use /list). Look for channels advertising what you want.

Once you find the type of channel you are looking for, it will be quite obvious what to do in order to download a file.

I haven't used IRC in ages but most channels devoted to file sharing had a bot that, when you entered, would give you a message saying how to get started.
