Would anyone care to share the etymology of this idiom?

I used it once and the music scatched to a halt, the world stopped and everyone in the room turned from wahtever they were doing and looked me and raised their right eybrows and gave me a look of disappointment... I just told them it was a west coast thing..

Gotta agree with the *****-king here, a$$clown is much better. Plus, it's origins in "Office Space" make it a legend in it's own time.
