WTF? Way to go Kao. You just became my biggest hero. Question, is it still gonna be a series, or a movie to kinda wrap up that cliffhanger ending?

Are you serious??!?! Old eps or they're back in production?!?

It's funny cause yesterday I was watching A Kiss Before Dying, some old movie from the 80s or something and Ben Browder had a really small part in it. It took me a while to remember who he was.

Were those books anything like The Left Hand of Darkness? I had to read that for a Popular Fiction course and it was too weird for my tastes.

Yeah. Me too! I saw the commercial on Sci-fi last night, and had to rewind and watch it again. I was that surprised, and it actually took me a minute for my brain to register what I'd just seen.

Absolutely great set of books. I'm also a bit concerned about how they'll pull it off though. Alot of the "feel" of the books were done via the wonderfully descriptive writing. It's very hard to capture that on screen. I'm especially worried about how they'll handle the deal with Ged's shadow "hunting" him. It was just the right amount of creepy in the book, and essentially drives the whole plot of the first book. Get that wrong, and the whole thing will end up feeling wrong.

On a similar note. Anyone else notice that they're doing a film version of "A Wrinkle in Time"? I always had the same soft spot in my heart for that series as well. Just not your traditional "high fantasy" style, and also hard to pull off IMO.

Erm, is this a new version? Because I recently watched A Wrinkle in Time on tv a couple of weeks ago.

I tend to be wary of anything Sci-Fi takes on that isn't one of their regular shows. They make some really horrible movies. Like today I caught part of Atomic Train and despite having a Sex and the City cast member, Mena Suvari, and Rob Lowe, it looked awful. And then there was that Dean Cain one called Bugs or something and some really really stink one with Christopher Lambert that had me gagging. Children of Dune was the exception.

children of dune and Battlestar galactica have been the two really good miniseries they have put out. some others have been acceptable, and alot have been crap. I really hope they don't botch it.

The cast looks decent: http://www.scifi.com/earthsea/cast/
but the screenplay writer is the same ******* that wrote "small soldiers", so I am a tad bit nervous how it is going to to turn out.

Mren: looks like they are making a movie based on firefly with most of the cast of firefly:
