Presumably, he said that in jesting retort to the Pubbie radio tools who think saying things like "French looking John Kerry" and "Kerry with his blow-dried hair" is a cutting insult.

I just think it's funny as hell an american guy, a self-proclaimed war hero mind you, is talking about his running mate and his hair.

You guys ever watch the senate on cable? Man these politicians say and do some funny ****. All you have to do is listen. But you can also tell a lot about the character of a person when they're recorded thinking the mic is off.

More often than I'd like, I find myself contemplating what idiots they appear to be. It's just a strong reminder of how distanced from the average person they actually are.

It's called a sense of humor. I for one would prefer a President with one. It'd be better to laugh at something the President said as opposed to just laughing at the President.

It doens't matter WHAT you say when you're in politics. Someone will find a way to rip or twist it. Period. You have to talk to get things done, and getting ripped for the things you say is just part of the package deal.

It's unfortunate that your deciding factors in choosing who to vote for are based on arguments on quotes that are taken out of context. This isn't the first time you have started an entire thread on the same misinformation. I think it's because of people like you that our founding fathers thought that the people were not responsible enough to govern themselves and created the electoral college.

Out of curiosity: I know Bush has used nasty, mean spirited humor on his subordinates in public but has he ever used self depreciating humor in public? And I am not really talking about him referring to his inability to create an understandable sentence or his habit of creating his own words. I am talking more about an off the cuff remark that has nothing to do with something the whole world laughs as him about.
Hmmm. I can't recall laughing at anything candid he had to say. I remember he had a slideshow of himself looking for WMD in the whitehouse, that was self depracating.
