Okay, I'm a little out of date on this one, but I just recently finished reading HP: Prisoner of Azkaban. I also saw the movie on opening day.
For yall who've read the book and seen the movie, any one agree with me that for once the movie was better? I think that the movie portrayed the growing relationship between Ron and Hermoine better and also the scene with the Hippogriff flying over the lake was a nice addition. Though, it would have been nice if it had more of the dialouge between Lupin and Potter.

No! I thought the movie was awful. It didnt follow the story line, was lacking key story parts to tie it all together and had parts added that were no where in the book.
Well, I may be all alone here, but I didn't go see this movie, mostly because I don't like to sit and watch horrific crap for 2 hours. Anyone agree?
I didn't go to the theater to see any of the Harry Potter movies. But I've caught the first 2 on TV by chance. I found them to be mildly entertaining. Nothing I'd go out of my way for, but not unholy spawn of Satan garbage, either.
Nowhere as bad as, say....Tango & Cash. Now there's an example of a movie that sucked donkey ***.

I think the book is the best in the series. The movie is also the best movie they made so far, but the gap in quality between the book and movie widened, IMHO.
The movie seemed pretty rushed, getting in only just what is needed to advance the plot and what may be important for future plots, and very little else. I think it would be hard to follow without having read the book.

I shudder to think what they'll do with Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix.
I mean, 700+ pages in goblet.. There's lot of stuff that's pretty essential to the plot and I just don't see how they're gonna butcher it into a barely coherent movie. I guess they'll be counting on the Harry Potter name to make people overlook any extreme suckitude they bring to it.
