Further, McDonalds' quality assurance manager testified that the company actively enforces a requirement that coffee be held in the pot at 185 degrees, plus or minus five degrees. He also testified that a burn hazard exists with any food substance served at 140 degrees or above, and that McDonalds coffee, at the temperature at which it was poured into styrofoam cups, was not fit for consumption because it would burn the mouth and throat. The quality assurance manager admitted that burns would occur, but testified that McDonalds had no intention of reducing the "holding temperature" of its coffee.
So Mcd's basically said yeah it's hot if you burn yourself tough break. It's about time some company said scew it to basic stupidity, I mean how many people actually drink from scalding cups? Well this one dumb ***** did and now the price of coffee is going to increase for all the normal people that actually wait until the coffee doesn't burn them to try and drink it, imagine that.
On a side note...I heard a list of dumbest people to win a lawsuit on the radio and this one old fart jackass actually got up to refill his coffee in his winnebago...the only problem is he was on the freaking highway. He got an attorney sued winnebago and now the instruction manual actual reminds people not to leave the steering wheel to get coffee while driving, paraphrased.
And these people are looked up to in the country.... how far a great nation has fallen
