While he may have been a very odd individual, he was easily the best actor of his generation. Without his performance in "The Godfather" that movie is likely forgotten completely today. The first genius of method acting he changed the artform forever.

I salute him as a great tragic figure of the 20th century.

Yup, I read on a news site that he died. I wonder if he died with an orange peel in his mouth? That would have been ironic...

Can I be first to say I don't care?

Not because I don't care, but because every time there's a thread about someone's death, someone has to be the "cool guy" and say how their life and death is meaningless and a kajillion people die every day and no one cares about them and we didn't know Brando personally so why should we gives a rat's ***.

I wanna be that person. Just to see what it's like.

Shame about Brando though

I've seen horrors... horrors that you've seen. But you have no right to call me a murderer. You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that... but you have no right to judge me. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face... and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies. I remember when I was with Special Forces. Seems a thousand centuries ago. We went into a camp to inoculate the children. We left the camp after we had inoculated the children for Polio, and this old man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back there and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A ile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried. I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out. I didn't know what I wanted to do. And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it. I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that. The genius. The will to do that. Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were stronger than we. Because they could stand that these were not monsters. These were men... trained cadres. These men who fought with their hearts, who had families, who had children, who were filled with love... but they had the strength... the strength... to do that. If I had ten divisions of those men our troubles here would be over very quickly. You have to have men who are moral... and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordial instincts to kill without feeling... without passion... without judgment... without judgment. Because it's judgment that defeats us.

RIP, you crazy fucker.

The obligatory put down post:

Yeah, but he was a corpulent and bloated pig towards the end who couldn't act unless he had cue cards taped to the chests of those who were in the scene around him.

But other than that, I suppose he was ok, I guess.

Let's hope he is remembered for roles like "The Godfather" rather than roles like "The Island of Dr. Moreau"

Now they're going to release a "Special Edition" of movies like the Godfather, sell them for twice as much, and make a fortune off of Brando kicking the bucket.

His early work will be missed, but nothing too recent will even be remembered.

Ehh probably not, Pacino really makes the trilogy. Hate to say it because I love MB's role in partI. DID YOU KNOW OF THE DAY!!! Marlon Brando actually turned down the Best Oscar Award for his Role in the Godfather Part I.

And don't forget "Last Tango in Paris," CM. That one sucked big brass babboon balls. ****, they could have given "The Island of Dr. Moreau" a different name, placed it somewhere else in the galaxy, and made it a spin-off from the "Star Wars" series. Hollywood could have called it, "The Home of Jabba the Hut."

He wasn't prone to making good films very often.

Every actor makes ****** movies. They don't allways give ****** performances in them. Brando had a few weak performances, but the brilliant ones far outweight them.

Not necessary. This year's trifecta is complete. My friend makes guesses as to who's gonna go, like a death pool.

Right, I went on a tangent! Whether or not the word is ghey, at least he used it in the right context.

Yes the word is ghey.
