So, I'm listening to this online radio station out of Texas that I listen to a good deal, KHYI 95.3, I have no idea where it's located to be honest, other than it's in Texas.

Normally I ignore the local news stuff and trafic and whatnot, but today they're doing the traffic and something catches my attention.

And accident on the George Bush Highway.

Are you ******* kidding me? There's a highway named after a one term President who's still alive?

Are you people really that desperate? I mean I could understand the LBJ highway. Or even the Sam Houston bridge or something, but the Bush highway??

ok ya he is a one term president but he was also the Texas Governer if you forgot.... (dont talk about stuff you dont understand you just make yourself look stupid)

I probably shouldn't even bother, but no, the George Bush the Highway was named after was never the governor of texas. Need proof? http://www.texasfreeway.com/dallas/historic/dfw_news_article_04_28_96.shtml

Might be time to start taking your own advice.

Another interesting fact I found while looking that up.. guess who won an eight year managing contract for building the road.. surprise, surprise

In Houston, there's a whole airport. Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Technically this is a tollway, thus you must pay for the privilege to drive on it. What makes me angry is the people who stop to pay all the tolls, when they can go online, or stop once, and buy a toll tag, and they would never have to stop again. I don't understand why this isn't a crime.

Are you people really that desperate? I mean I could understand the LBJ highway. Or even the Sam Houston bridge or something, but the Bush highway??
In Dallas, it's the LBJ freeway.
In Houston, it's the Sam Houston tollway.

....If I'm ever in Texas I know where I'm doing my Burn Outs!
Although it would be a shame to waist 4 perfectly good rubbers on ******* Bushs' "Hershey Highway" when the we have a great 9/11 committee that's doing a fine job already. :P

Best highway name ever: Elgin-O'Hare Expressway in the Chicago suburbs.

It doesn't pass through, nor connects, either the town of Elgin or O'Hare airport. In fact, when you get off of it, you probably have a good 45min drive to get anywhere near O'Hare airport and a half hour to get to Elgin.

OK first of all Houston has BUSH IAH (our main airport) and I belive Dallas has one to...named after the former President Bush...so I am guessing that the freeways/highways and tollways are name after former president Bush to.

As for generalizing that all Texans are stupid...come on..that is just wrong...some Texans are stupid,(example: Jessica Simpson)but not all of us are.

And not all of us have shotguns we carry in our trucks either...and we don't all wear cowboy boots, and for the last time NO we do not all ride horses to work. (although that would be cool to ride a horse to work and go up to the 31st floor of my building with the horse).

As for Texans being rude and mean........Um I have to say that Texas is one of the friendliest (I know spelling) states in the Country.....if you goto Houston, you will most likely start up a conversation with someone you don't know in the elavator....as for the other big cities in the US, that would most likely not happen.

That being said...dont call the whole state stupid, mean or generalize just because you saw or heard one person from this state.

After all we are drunk, truck driving, shotgun toting fools who will shoot the **** outta ya....

Yall come back now ya hear...........lol

Pointless to begin with, and it will end pointlessly, as all things do on this board. I already posted the right info. Go back and look it up.

Dallas' two large airports are Dallas/Fort Worth International (colloquially referred to as "the DFW")
http://www.dfwairport.com/index.html
and Dallas Love Field (quite lovingly referred to as "the Love")
http://www.dallas-lovefield.com/

Jesus tapdancing Christ, if you're going to try and defend something, at least get your info correct first.

I'm too tired to rip apart the rest of this.

Okay maybe one more: people in major Texas cities, not nice. You need to go to the rural areas. People will wave to you on the road.

I stated that I believed that Dallas had one named after Bush, I think I have it confused with DFW....I'm sorry, I travel between the two cites alot, got it confused....

As for people in major Texas cites not being nice, I am comparing them to the other major cities in the country...not the rural areas...you are right though about the rural areas...people are much more friendly than in the city, I guess it is more of that laid back atmosphere, as in the city everyone is busy bodies.
