A good reason to hide your head in shame if you're a Democrat

Ok, is there anybody here who actually thinks this commie piece of work has any talent left? She has reduced herself to making horrible parodies of even worse songs that were unlistenable to begin with. It'd be even funnier if she didn't take herself so seriously, lol.

Well Trey Parker & Matt Stone created "That's My Bush," and they're notorious Barbara-bashers. She doesn't count.

If you're gonna hold her against us, we get to hold Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond against you. ;)

As opposed to Gray Davis, Al Sharpton, Jessie Jackson, the man who invented the internet, and any woman who is a card carrying member of NOW?

Let's face it, every party has it's share of "eccentrics," but at least Ashcroft, Helms, and Thurmond didn't mortgage a brilliant singing career against some hokey political lyrics. What a letdown.

Michalangelo might as well painted "Kilroy was here" on the Sistene chapel's ceiling for what Babs is doing. Mind you, her music doesn't appeal to me, but I recognise talent when I see it. But cashing in on that talent for something as tawdry as Bush-bashing should be beneath her.

No, it's not the EOFS. There is no all or nothing in politics, regardless what you may think. As I have said, there are things about Bush I don't care for, but on the whole I back his play. And, believe it or not, I can say the same for Clinton when he was in office. It was only when personal integrity became an issue and interjected itself into the Oval Office that I objected.

But, hey, we've been over and over this issue so many times in the past, me repeating myself isn't going to change your minds about Clinton or me or about whether you believe me when I say such things about my attitudes towards philanderers. Politics is truly the most colorfast of political stains, right up there with religion.

Count on it. I vote in every election from the local dog catcher race to the presidential election, not to mention I do not avoid jury duty and I spent twenty years in the military. But then I was raised with a clear sense of civic duty and an apprciation for my responsibilities in this land of ours.

Care to match civic resumes?*

Sure, I sold Acid to 75% of college students during the years 1993-1996. If that's not for the cause of freedom and democracy I don't know what is.

I hate to go off topic, but as long as we are talking about reasons to be ashamed of the democratic party, here my biggest beef with them.

http://www.newsmax.com/articles/?a=2000/8/18/81224

I know it happened a while ago, but this was simply outrageous and dispicable behavior that went unsanctioned if not supported by the rest of the democratic party. Eagle Scouts are some of the most upstanding citizens there are. I don't care how you feel about the Boy Scout of America's policies on homosexuals, these young men have worked their tails off to reach Eagle. It is an accomplishment that should earn them respect, not boos. Being an Eagle Scout myself, this incident really burned me up.

On a side note in defense of the BSAs policy, we are a PRIVATE organization. Our right to restrict membership how we see fit has been upheld by the supreme court. There are child safety issues that must be addressed. If you want to target unfair discrimiation, try having a well deserving white student apply for a scholarship from the United Negro College Fund or any of the other similar organizations.

The Eagle Scouts themselves do not make the policy. I personally don't give a crap if they do or do not allow gays into scouting. The democrats did not boo the administration of the BSA (less than suprising is the fact that you can find them in Texas), they were booing a group of EAGLE SCOUTS. These are teenagers that have worked their @$$ off to get where they are. I have not met an Eagle Scout yet who was anything less than an outstanding individual. If you agree with what those democrats did, here's a little activity for you: go boo and protest the soldiers who recieve the purple heart, or congressional medal of honor, or any other military award because the military does not want homosexuals either. You'll be doing the exact same thing, disrespecting those who have worked hard while they have no control over the situation.

L. Ron Hubbard.
Daniel ********** killed his entire family with a hatchet.
Arthur Gary Bishop, Serial Killer.
John Edward Robinson, Serial Killer.
Christ Whitman, the Texas tower sniper.
Larry Matthew Pucket, serial rapist.
Russel Henderson, killed Matthew Shepard.

Let's be sure not to let gays in, though. Might give them a bad name.

First off. I'm still relatively sure he's never met any of them.

Secondly, that's how many individuals over how many years, out of how many scouts? That's a pretty low percentage. I'm betting we have a higher percentage of criminals among elected officials then Eagle Scouts.

Not that I think scouting is a huge deal, but I agree that booing the scouts themselves for the policies of the organization is a bit much. It's *exactly* like spitting on soldiers because you don't like the administration that sent them to fight.

One, that's a tiny list that I picked out at random. There are THOUSANDS of Eagle Scouts convicted of all sorts of crimes. A much, much, higher percentage than elected officals.

Two, it's nothing at all like spitting on soldiers. Eagle Scouts are part of a private, homophobic, childs paramilitary orginization. It's more akin to spitting on KKK members. They have more in common with Eagle Scouts than soldiers do.

It is. Think about it a moment. Private, paramilitary orginization. Openly bars gays. Openly bars atheists. Dresses up in uniforms.

Aside from being like a magned to steel for pedophiles, the Boy Scouts are much more simmilar to the KKK than most orginizations. They don't share the rascism, but they share the homophobia and Christian mandates.

I imagine most KKK members are former Boy Scouts.

Maybe from the outside you can make abstract parallels to the KKK. But have you ever actually been IN the boy scouts?

It's a bunch of 12-year-old kids that go on camp outs and try to find new ways to light things on fire.

My high school gym teacher and my priest were closer to pedophiles than anyone i ever knew associated with the boy scouts.

The christian mandates aren't forced at all, it really depends on how much of a zealots the adult leader is. Basically, the kids whose parents raised them in a religious upbringing paid attention to the religious stuff, and everybody else didn't care.

There was no breeding of homophobia either, other than the standard 12-year-old "you're gay" insult. The administration I was around didn't even say a word on gays either way, at least not to the kids.

As for paramilitary, if I had any notion of ever joining the military, the boy scouts would have driven me away from it. The uniforms are arbitrary.

This is just one of those things where people pick on them for stupid decisions by the old men in charge, but the actual participation is just a bunch of average, dorky kids hanging out.

The KKK is just a bunch of Nascar fans hanging out.

They're really misunderstood. They get a lot of bad press.
