And now it's official. Cubs over the Sox for the series opener, 7-4.
Boy, after watching that game on WGN, I think that the Kominsky announcers need to be fired. I always thought that baseball annoucers were supposed to be objective and weren't supposed to (openly) take sides. I can recall atleast a half dozen instances where all they had to say was "C'mon <insert Sox player here>, get a hit."

And I'd like to say that besides the Dodgers, the Cubs announcers are the most biased I have seen/heard myself.
Krukow and Kuiper r teh r0x0rz. They'll admit when we get a bad call our way. I've NEVER seen a Cubs announcer do that.

Maybe you don't watch a lot of Cubs baseball then. Chip Carey is a good annoucer, and although he's a diehard Cubbie, he still calls a relatively un-biased game. Sure, he may spew off more useless facts and stats about the Cubs than the other team, but he doesn't 'root' for the Cubs during the game, nor does he say things like "We got a break there," implying that he himself is part of the Cubs fan-base.
Then again, my point of view is slightly biased. Go Cubs.

No thats true I catch an occasional Cub's broadcast. Chip Carey is pretty damn good at calling games. I don't know who the ChiSox play caller is but that frggin guy is biased as hell.

Maybe, it's just a different standard than I'm used to. We have 2 ex-players as announcers. They just won Emmys for their work.

He acts like his only audience is Sox fans, so everything is in the possesive. "We head into the 8th down by 3 runs", or "We got a lucky break there", or "We need a few runs here". I guess I'm just so used to good annoucing that it was a shock to me that annoucers could be so blatently biased. Just goes to show ya the quality of the baseball on the south side.

Chip Caray is friggin' terrible as the Cubs announcer.
Steve Stone used to be good, but he got tainted by sitting next to Chip all the time.
I pray to Buddah that Joe Buck is there for next weekend's game on ESPN, and they fire Tim McCarver.
p.s. the Cubs broadcasters are just as biased as the Sox, btw.
