HUH?? Both these teams are pretty damn good this year. Last I checked Philly was in first in the NL East and Boston was only trailing those cheating ******* Yankees in the AL East. Even though I was born in PA and am a Philly fan I have to go with the Sox, they just have better pitching. Pedro/Schilling anyone?

Is that their "crosstown" rivalry? Everywhere else is having them.

NYY-NYM
SF-OAK
ANA-LOS
TEX-HOU
STL-KC
CWS-CHC

Great Friday for the Yard.

I guess. We don't really have a Natonal Legue team nearby that anyone pays any attention to.

Yeah its basically the closest interleauge rival cross-division. ie East vs East, Central vs Central, West vs West. Bonds better roid up for that A's pitching staff.

I don't know, the A's pitching doesn't impress me that much this year.

Well its still early, Hudon, Mulder and Zito are a deadly trio if the A's makes the playoffs. I'd love to see them face off against the Sox in the LCS. That'd be a great series if both staffs are on top of their games.

BTW what the hell are the Rangers doing in first place? And while we are on the topic of the AL west my M's are just terrible this year.

Schmidt vs. Zito?

Schmidt is the most underrated pitcher in the Majors today. He should snag the NL Cy Young this year.

We should win tonight. Although, I'm scared because J.T. Snow is supposedly back.

Well sorry to say the Giants won't make the plyoffs this year anyway. They don't have the staff and the NL Central is too good. Dodgers in the west, Stros in Central (they just picked up Beltran) Phils in the east, Cubbies take the WC. Cubs-Sox series. We missed it last year, its happening this year, I can feel it.

And speaking of Bonds and steroids... someone leaked Tim Montgomery's grand jury testimony in which he admitted to having used steroids and human growth hormone, and claims that the founder of Balco, Vincent Conte, told him that Conte had supplied the same drugs to Barry Bonds. Bonds of course denies it all.

At this point Barry ought to just admit it, take his lumps and get over it.

We shall see. I think everyone is waking up to the fact that we may take the NL. We just swept the Dodgers (without Schmidt pitching I might add) in 4 games, beat Boston 2 of 3, took Cincy and the Cubs, and played on even footing with Houston.

Why can't people realize that this Giants team is going all the way?

Nothing new. Just a rehash of old stuff. The Chron had a slow news day.

Yeah I heard about that today. Bonds says he never even heard of Montgomery or did roids. What a bunch of crap! Case in point. Look at a picture of him from his Pittsburgh Pirates days then llok at him in a giants uniform. The guy is full of it, hes only twice the size he was 15 years ago.

You mean starting I suppose? Well, we've seen how well Chicago and Houston have done this year with their "great" pitching.

If you think the Dodgers will win the NL west, you haven't been paying attention.

World Series?

SF v. NYY

Cubs #1 and #2 starters have been out most of the year with injuries.

Let's see how well the Giants would do without Jason Schmidt and...well...you don't really have a #2 right now.

(As we speak, Cubs beating up on the Sox 6-1)

I heard something about us maybe getting that kid from Seattle.

That's besides the fact that our pitching (minus Tomko) has been better than average in the last 30 or so games. Hermanson and Williams both are having good years and Woody has done fine except for one game. Our relief is about 1000 times better than anybody in the Chicago organization. (Herges anyone?)

Keep ignoring the Giants...you won't get to for long.
