does the drive-up ATM machine have braille next to the number pad?

I mean, is that there for all the blind car drivers out there?

Or is it for all the blind people that somehow walked to the bank, then happened to find the ATM machine?

I want to learn Braille.

Think about it, you could read and drive at the same time.

thin kof the possibilities.

Braille should be required learning in school.

Maybe I'll make my kids learn it.

Every now and then I walk by a building for the Canadian Institute for the Blind, they have probably the biggest sign in the world on the roof for it, with letters that are 12 feet tall and 5 feet wide but absolutely no signs or braille on front of building in which a blind person could read.

Makes me laugh.

Or you know, concentrate on driving.

Well, I don't know why they have braille on the ATMs. My only guess is that blind people have not-blind friends. They probably don't want to give their PINs to their friends.

Also, most people can't learn braille. Have you ever put your fingers on those little dots? Usually, people with sight don't have a sense of touch developed enough to feel each letter. Now, you can force yourself to count each little dot on each little row, but you'll probably never be able to go fast enough to actually be able to read a whole sentence in less than half an hour. Also, there are blind people that can't read braille and a very few people with sight who do possess a highly developed sense of touch.

Maybe ecstacy would help you with learning to read braille... if you could stop gnawing your lip long enough.

Oh, I hate you all so shut up and die!

I always figured the drive-in ATMs have Braille because, well, they all do, and it's cheaper to have them all standard than it is to make special non-Braille ones for the drive-ins.

Now, the "Blind People Crossing" signs do confuse me...

That sounds like the right answer.

But is it the fun answer?

Without the sense boost that comes from blindness, you'd have a heck f a hard time to learn to read brail. Try running your fingers over it ad just count how many little dimples you feel. Most people can't. Unless they're blind.

Only as long as it's very legible. I could use a boost right now. :)
