Did anyone else hear about this?

My wife works for the government, and she was notified by her superiors that approximately $30,000 worth of UPS uniforms were purchased over Ebay in a 2-week period. They suspect that it is a terrorist plan to get into businesses, gov't buildings, even homes, and deliver bombs or whatever other garbage terrorists use.

Basically, it was a warning to be on the watch when you are delivered packages.

Just wanted to pass it along to all of you, in case it turns out to be legit.

I think the CIA, FBI and NSA would probably on this like a fly on ****. Any type of suspicious behavior like that would be easily traceable.

Who the hell has $30 grand worth of UPS uniforms to sell via eBay? Even combined people, I can't imagine there's thirty thousand dollars worth of UPS uniforms on eBay in a two week period. A quick visit to eBay just now revealed some t-shirts that aren't uniform (just a white t-shirt with a big logo on it) and a single old brown uniform shirt. Lots of mousepads and ashtrays though.

I agree, it was just a warning.

And fyi, those agencies are the ones that sent the message.

Well, I thought the same thing. It's not like UPS uniforms are a hot item on Ebay or anything. I think the fact that that amount was sold at all was the red light that alerted the government.

Yeah, my point was that either Al'Quaeda or whoever sent $30k from Achmed to Akbar for no apprent reason or else that they lucked out into finding $30,000 worth of dress browns in a two week period where, today, I found a grand total of $4.00 worth in the form of an old shirt. Seems like a risky way of running your terrorist outfit, to hope to find all your stuff over a public auction website.

Hell, I'm not saying it's not true or that you maybe heard some of the info wrong, but it does sound damn weird.

Possibly. But everyone is accusing the gov't of underreaction towards terrorist info pre-9/11, so I guess over is better than under.

Ah, well I sit corrected then.

As much as I hate to admit it, that sample on the link you posted is exactly what I read.

Oh well, was just trying to help, not spread a gay urban legend.

Sorry guys. :)

The first tip was in the OP:
Quote:
My wife works for the government, and

It's always "my wife" or "my cousin's friend" or "my fuckbuddy's dogsitter."

Now, if you worked for the Cia or FBI and had that report in your hands, would you call your stockbroker and buy a bunch of Fedex stock before publishing it.?
