Worse than 2 Beheadings

U.S. officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, said several members of the al-Zarqawi network were believed in the house at the time of the attack but they did not know if the terrorist mastermind himself was inside. The officials did not dispute Iraqi casualty figures.

Seems like a wise decision. I bet the famalies of the dead understand the decision to bomb the village because of uncomfirmed thoughts that terrorists might be there.

Hey,terrorists might be in your town too. Better watch out for bombs.

It was the right thing to do. War isn't conducted in a vaccuumm. If you have a chance to change the dynamic of a bad situation, you have to take the shot.

Not that I think we should be there in the first place, but this is the correct tactical decision. Stand off shot with marginal risk of collateral damage and no risk of coalition casualties with the potnetial to destablize an insrugent force.

Doesn't get any more clear cut.

I agree completely.

The men who beheaded the Americans can justify their actions too.

So why is so much ado made over a couple beheadings that were done for tactical reasons?

well its war, people die during war. if i was over in iraq, and a child motioned something that made me feel threatened, i dont think id hesitate to shoot him. remember the stories of kids busting out ak's and killing several soldiers.

"maximum damaged by firing two strikes — one first to attack and another to kill the rescuers."
