Sorry, just applying the american view on global politics. Sorry if I offended you on a personal level.

Polotics all over the world can matter and have a direct effect on the USA. 9/11 was not an american action. Thousands of people lost their lives. there is a world out there not one nation, and those are words by JFK.

Weirdly enough, I don't understand what was so great about Regean. Can someone explain to me the sudden craze over him and his death? Also, bush is trying to say or indirectly say he is like Regean. What is up with that?

You know, how did we miss that? We should really discuss Reagan here a bit.

I mean, really!

Reagan was a President With out much competition in one Election Nobdy even opposed him. Magret thatcher ruled for 11 years and was great friends with him, Yet everyone here hates her now. It was a strange time 80's polotics.

Maybe when Canada actually exhibits meaningful participation in global politics, they can sit at the grown-ups table.

Actually, Canada does a lot in international politics, we are just not like you overbearing Americans that need to dominate the decision making process. We prefer to ask the other countries what they need of us, instead of giving them what we feel they need.

Canada has always been one of the most steadfast supporters of the UN, we always contribute money and troops to UN sanctioned efforts, we just do it quietly in proper Canadian fashion.

Take that macho ******** somewhere else, like Iraq maybe.

Remind how this applies to this thread?

Question for you Reinman: What side of the Politcal Spectrum is the NDP on?

I included my occupation, as it infers that I will leave it up to our government to make the final decisions, I have my specialty and they have theirs. That kind of thing.

NDP are on the left! They are the most left of all parties. They have thoroughly ****** up BC's economy though. The unions have been allowed to take too much power, and now they choke off their companies ability to be competitive internationally. They will not be getting my vote ever. They can't quite see the big picture.

Canada actually has politics, unlike America which has a collection of walking corporations pretending to be human by looking and sounding good on TV. And I blame the American public for voting these ******* in. There have been very good alternatives like McCain or Tsongis (sp?).

Listening to Canadian politicians is an amazing experience as an American because I don't feel they are trying to sell me something dreadful as a cure for all ills.

Classic case in point was the spotted owl. Neither side was mature enough to admit that on the one hand we had jobs and on the other we had an endangered species - and we had to choose between the two. Both sides were saying their plan would save both - thus we never get to the point of dealing with reality: what is going to happen to the unemployed lumberjacks? Or is there actually an alternative place for the owls? Who are we going to actually plan to move? Neither of course.

Listen to any state of the union speach by any of the last four US presidents. Its amazing how many great things they say they did, or are doing: and yet in the real world very little is changed by any of it. They take credit for all economic gains and blame all losses on the other party. I have never heard a single one say the econonmy grew because the American people actually worked more. Would a general take full credit for victory on the battlefield? And how much less control does the US president have then a general?

I have no idea what you are talking about, but certainly the US is not anywhere which could be described as "adult", except in the www. sense of the word.

You mean these things are illegal? That is the normal night on the town for most average Canadian men

Sorry for the delay, I was quite slow on this one.

I think people take the president or prime minister or whatever leader you have too hard on economy. Aside from tax adjustment, what else can a president do for the economy? Not much. If the economy goes into a recession, you can only do so much. Its not the president's FAULT, but he could help to solve the problem. Though, he can only do so much. I may be a little shy of the truth on this, but this is what I have heard recently. How much power does a president in the USA have over the economy?

Had Bush not planned the 9-11 attacks, the economy would be much better I guarantee it. So don't sell the prez short on his impact on the economy.

You live in a weird society Reinman. I'm pretty sure that canadians are softer on the drug issue (hash), but hookers and gambling? I don't normally take part in illegal organized gambling...or order a hooker. You can order a "escort" but whatever they do with you is on their own time. They aren't paid for sex, its just a perk :).

Try having sex and not paying, and you will find out the answer you seek.

Are you familiar with the word "pimp", do you know what their job description is?

...which country is liked the most by the world? Canada

I really hate to break this to you, but the rest of the world is usually oblivious to Canada. Now don't get me wrong, Canada's a nice place, but you're delusional if you think the rest of the world is sitting around having happy (any) thoughts about you.
