President Bush on Tuesday claimed victory in the war on terrorism in Afghanistan
ROFL -- I'm sure Bush would be willing to spend a couple nights without guard say... 25 miles outside of Kabul? Afghan President Karzi, whose influence ends at the capitol's borders, admits to there being "security incidents" which I guess is poli-corporate speak for "The nation is controlled almost exclusively by militant warlords, except in the south and east where the Taliban pockets retain and consolidates power with other fundamentalist groups."
Irony: Speaking to Congress, Karzai said that Afghans embraced the American war on terrorism even though the rise of the Taliban and al Qaeda had come about after the United States and other Western countries left Afghanistan to the warlords after Soviet Union pulled out.
