Fear the invaders!

Notice the common link behind each of these incidents? Let's not quibble about who started them -- I think it's obvious where the culture of murder and terror is coming from.

So because American children are afraid of big nasty looking bugs and many have injured themselves trying to get away from them or kill them we are a culture of murder and terror? Or are you saying that Locusts are the culture of murder and terror invading the US every 17 years in an every failing attempt to overthrow our culture? :)

Cicadas are cool. Nothing quite like the cacaphony of bajillions of bugs at night keeping you awake with that, "Reeeee! Reeeeeee! REEEEEEE!"

Nifty keen.

Nah, I was mocking the previous thread linking the "Look at all these wars involving Muslims! Muslims are obviously evil if they were in all these Muslim-Christian conflicts!" article while taking the chance to link an article I thought was pretty funny.

"Here's a list of conflicts (never mind who started them) involving Muslims. See how those Muslims obviously have a culture of murder?"
"Here's a bunch of examples of kids getting hurt (never mind how they got hurt) that all involve cicadas. See how cicadas are obviously a threat to children?"

Hrmph.. I had thought it'd be obvious without spelling it out.

I'm working on the WWII Memorial inauguration right now, and they're all over the National Mall. It's interesting to observe people that pick them up, crush them, make fun of their buggish looks and blindness. I think aggressive behavior is always about making yourself feel superior, more powerful than what you are fighting, but not always with a strong grasp of why you feel the urge to do so. Cruelty is instinctual. It's morality that classifies it as bad.

It can be frustrating at times, can't it, Jo, posting on this board? You make a clever reference to something else, thinking to yourself, "Ha! This is a can't-miss post," and you might as well be talking to the family pet.

Hey Kelvy have you even seen a Cicada yet? I thought they were supposed to be bad around here. I still have yet to see one.

I saw my first one a few days ago.. bu I havn't seen them in mass yet...' but if you go around some trees that are older than 17 years.... you'll be sure to see their shells hanging off the trees. I htink they mainly have been coming out in mass at night time...

It's funny... when I finally saw that one.. I picked it up... and was instantly transported to my childhood in 1987..Transformers, Photon, my Pogo-ball Star Trek Next Gen had just come out..and I remembered those beady little eyes.... and i remembered running outside with bats and tennis rackets.... smashing them against the ground... fillling jars full of them and exploding it.... pulling off wings, pulling out eyes.... ripping up 'vocal chords'..... I was a sick little *******.

Now I am as gentle as can be around these things.. and I get sad when I hear of people killing them... I certainly have changed alot.

they just want to hump. muslims just want to drive the jews (and anyone that doesn't hate them) into the sea. minor differences, but the parallel is there i guess.

EDIT: not that the jews don't have some serious problems either..americans are the only flawless ones. (<-just kidding for the ones that can't sense sarcasm)

If you want to try to defend your hate literature and laughable history, go do it on your thread. This one is about cicadas and the kids who wound themselves trying to kill them.

...on the next Oprah

I always thought Empyre's hate mongering was his shtick like Totem's Arab=Savage deal. Who knew he was so dim?

You know, explaining why a raven is like a writing desk takes some sort of creative ability. Explaining how they're not alike just takes a simple minded grasp of the obvious. But I guess we all have to play up our strengths.

Edit: Mastering forum tags isn't a strength of mine

if the world revolves around you or you've closed off the rest of the world enough to think that what you know/can do is a blanket standard for the human race then sure.

if you couldn't see the humor basis of my original post in this thread then start barking..the family misses you.

(or you, like many, still think i am some balls-to-the-wall serious hate-everything-that-is-not-christian like in brotherhood of the wolf type person). in which case i'm amused.

The hell it doesn't.

Apparently the problem is that I missed the keen wit behind "they just want to hump. muslims just want to drive the jews (and anyone that doesn't hate them) into the sea. minor differences, but the parallel is there i guess." In fact, you explaining to me that it's a joke and me re-reading it still doesn't make it funny, clever or even intelligent. I guess you're just too subtle for me Smiley: frown

No, seriously -- explain this to me. I'm sure you meant this to be something witty on some level or another, but I read it and it looks like you just strung random words together. Could you put this in some sort of context with our previous conversation and explain what on earth you were trying to convey? Or were you just looking for a chance to use the phrase "boom-stick" at some point today? I want to know if the problem here is me or you.

apparently you need everything explained to you now. (here's a hint, you're dealing with two isolated items of confusion now. don't think too hard)

lighten up, have a [url=http://******************************* kid[/url]

Apparently I do. But you still haven't explained anything.

Which explains a lot.

Sadly, we'll have to wait until I'm safe at home to use your link. Regardless of content, running "di[/i]ckcream" through the company server just doesn't seem like a good idea.

You have my sympathies Jophiel. I had never really read Empyre's crap before but, after his personal attack and the insinuation he was making a joke, I decided avoidance was the better part of valor in this case.
