I got dragged out to this. In high school I used to be into musicals..but figured the lion king could never match up to the likes of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

I was wrong. The production was incredible...I honestly had no idea they could produce that many effects through stage manipulation. All I have to say is "WOW", and urge anyone that can stomach a musical and the lion king songs again to go see it...well worth the money.

I saw the Lion King on Broadway a few years ago, and I was pretty much underwhelmed.

I'm no fan of Elton John and Tim Rice, so the songs didn't do it for me at all. The costumes were downright ******* amazing though, and some of the scenery was ingenius.

I had two problems with the show; first was that the 'wow factor' peaked early when they had all the various animals parade down the aisles of the theater during one of the first numbers. There was really nothing nearly as good for the rest of the show.

And the other was that Simba was a twit. Honestly, he didn't deserve to be the King. Nala was the one that did all the work and provided all the motivation for Simba the slacker. I just felt no sypmathy for him at all.
