Well played, my friend, well played. A solid salvo with that song. But here I am throwing a variety of techniques here at you-- so as to provide that "fresh material" you were lamenting was so deficient in my style --yet you yourself resort to the same thing you have used repeatedly in the past. What's next? A poem? A haiku?
Alright. I am reclaiming the high road here. No more gagging references, no more hints of you peeking on on adolescent boys showering, no more hitting below the belt. I shall demonstrate to you by way of a historical figure, albeit a deposed one, how your posting sucks these days, Coach.
Here is the deal, Coach. You fail to understand commodity. I will clarify my point but it will require a Herculean effort on your part to understand what I mean, so please pay close attention. The reason I say this is because your previous post, however impressive (or not), is mere child's play.
Karl Marx defined commodity in his groundbreaking work Capital: "Every useful thing, for example, iron, paper, etc., may be looked at from the two points of view of quality and quantity. Every useful thing is a whole composed of many properties; it can therefore be useful in various ways." Think about that carefully. Okay, now consider the "exchange-value" of a commodity as opposed to its "use-value." Let me break that down for you. What was the amount of time needed by you to create your last post? Let's say one hour. Ok. According to the "use-value" theory, any other post which took one hour to create has the same value as your previous post. In simple terms, the amount of labor determines the value of any post. But, if this were true, any drunk rambling by say, Angry Hippo, would possess the same value of any of Patrician's posts requiring the same amount of socially necessary labor, ie meaning the accepted standards of labor within a society.
Are you following me so far? Good.
However, that doesn't make sense on this board. Why? Because posts are not commodities. Posts are not bought and sold or traded for other commodities. However, posts are valuable as entertainment, therefore, they might be seen as "use-values." However, flames wars, verbal beatings, smack-downs, cries of "you have punched yourself in the balls," sockpuppetry, and spam etc have no "exchange-value." But, if you were to print out your last decent post, make into a magazine, and sell it it to a third party, or exchange it for a different commodity, then the aforementioned article would then be commodities and "use-values" and "exchange-values." I'm not sure anyone would buy it from you, but just humor me.
Are you follwing me? Yeah? You sure? Good.
Think about this:
x commodity A = commodity B or x commodity A is worth commodity A is worth y commodity B.
Above are two different kinds of commodities that represent the difference between the "use-valu--Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh... ***** IT!!!
