Actually the new OOT forum should do OK mainly because as soon as Illia makes a script for it, we intend to move any new OOT threads from the other forums to that one.

That's actually what we did with this forum on the old Ubb Forums. Any posts in the EQ forum that were not game related got moved to OOT.
I do think it's kind of ironic that this forum is livlier than it's ever been over the last few days.

for some reason our ffxi forums took off. We end up with 1500 people at a time hitting just the forums over there.
As with all discussions, stuff gets going Off topic. For the last bit, Kaolain had nudged people to oot for their non-game related topics. (and in any lage mass of people , topics will fall by the wayside)
Well, there's a problem -a number of people have made an interesting community (and you guys do come up with some of the most interesting topics I've seen, I read what happens here daily), and I don't think it's an insular community.
New blood is good blood. And I don't think that the general population of this forum is as insular as it would seem. The main problem is that there are a large number of ffxi people trying to have off-topic discussions, so putting them here isn't dumping a few new people on you, it's drowning you in 100s of new people all at once.
New posters end up intimidated, they want the opportunity to create their own feel, and all the power to 'em. That's what we're here for after all.
So we made a new forum stucture, it's all good.
