Trunksie, I believe you could accomplish the work of three posts in 6 characters. In the future, just toss out an "a/s/l?" and you're in.

No, hun. The newbies from Califernya and the like call it "Fey-ehd-vuhl", trying to sound like hicks. (and dismally failing)

The hicks that are born here call it "faaay-yett-vee-yell", rolling each "y" as much as possible.

Well, as I stated on yet another age-asking post, I'm 42. Graduated from Fayetteville High (if you can call it graduating) in 1980.

Smiley: grin

Small world, huh, Trunks?

I asked because a friend of mine visited her in-laws in NC and they kept asking her if she wanted to go to feville with them. It took her quite a while to figure out what they were saying.

Well the people in North Carolina (Yankees all) also call their sweet state Nawth Care-o-lah-nuh. Us hicks here in Arkansaw (actual original spelling when state charter first written in 18 and 36) know how to acc-ent-yew-ate a little better, hee hee.

Now if you really want a hoot, go to New Orleans, LA, and ask a native how to get around in their city. They'll ***** their eyes at you and say, "Oh ya'll had me thar fer a minute. You wanna know how to gets around here in NAWLEHNS, huh?"

That is how my wife's relatives pronounce it, but they are not from the city, just nearby.

Congrats on the job, trunks. Despite what people say, enjoy your work (to the extent you can), do it well and take some pride in what you are doing and that makes a big difference.
