I'm just waiting for them to recall Totem, but he's probably too hold.

Do they still use Chinooks?

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I am too old, but from my surfing at sites like www.Justhelicopters.com I am hearing they are desperately needing aviation officers. All joking aside, I'm giving serious consideration to contacting an Apache unit and seeing if they need an old hoss like myself. I'd have to go through AH-64 qual school-- unless they decided to put me in a UH-60 slot --where, upon completion, I'd head off to Iraq for a 12-16 month tour. I think they'd probably track me gunship since I'm AH-1 Cobra qual-ed. Surprisingly, my wife is favorably inclined to the idea, mostly I suppose because of the retirement I'd getting.

I went into the IRR after Desert Storm 1 and never attended any of the drills necessary for "good years" that count towards retirement, thus leaving me with 20 years in service for pay, but only 16.5 for retirement.

The 6 months to a year it'd take for qualification school at Ft. Rucker and the year in the Middle East would put me over the 18 year threshold, making me locked in for retirement.

I dunno. I'm still thinking about it. It's a serious change in direction for my career, but the benefits would be terrific, assuming I don't buy the farm, but then I guess my wife'd be living it up off my life insurance, lol.

Naw, I'm pretty sure she'd want all that cash buried with my body, as she'd be all broken up about me kicking the bucket...

The funny thing is that the Apache PICs (pilot in command) would prolly only let me tune the radio and run the acquisition devices since I'd be a "no0b." Yeah, a newbie with almost 10,000 hours, lol.

Army Aviation is a goofy organization which takes the pecking order very seriously. I joined the Cali Guard where the typical PIC had 500-800 hours of flight time, no combat time, and flew strictly on the weekends, yet they made me the unit maintenance officer and I still was only allowed to take the stick when the "real" pilot needed a break. They'd land the bird with it rattling the fillings out of everyone's mouth, then I'd ask to try it, and land so softly that you literally couldn't tell when we had settled down without checking to see if the collective was full down and locked.

Eventually they accepted me as one of them after a couple of years, but wow! It was a brutal uphill battle for the most part. The thing is, I couldn't have cared less since for me flying was a job, not fun. Mind you, it still holds alot of enjoyment for me, but if I don't fly one day, I'll fly the next. No big deal, but they were extremely jealous of logging every available minute they flew.

Oh well. I thought maybe y'all might want to see a little of the inside of military helicopter flying.

Show me the statistic that they sold more papers with the pictures than they did with other pictures.

What if they lose money?
And I would put money on the fact that more people wrote angry letters to the Seattle Times decrying their use of the photo and cancelling subscriptions because the S. Times is a bunch of liberal, war hating bloodsuckers than people who saw the picture and said "Wow! We need a subscription to the Seattle Times!"

If you're worried about people profiting from the war, look within your own party first.

As Smash said earlier, it takes a coward to send someone else to die for your cause and not acknowleding their sacrifice. How many funerals has Bush been to? Even when the fatalities were extremely low, he didn't bother to go to one. Not one.

I wonder if he will be tacky enough to show up at Tillman's funeral.
