Honestly, that seemed kinda tepid for Andy Rooney. Not even a strong condemnation of the action in Iraq. Just a "Gee. Our soldiers are people too" sentiment.

Your comments are about 5 steps farther left then his. But then, he actually has to be accountable for what he says, so I suppose that explains it...

Let's see.

You accurately take the words "mission accomplished" to mean "there will be no more fighting of any kind in Iraq". Even when the words were plastered on the side of an aircraft carrier that is clearly incapable of conducting ground missions in a desert.

You accurately assume that "major military operations" has nothing to do with the advancement of tanks and whole military units against organized military forces flying the other side's flag, but freely associate it with peacekeeping missions involving small arms altercations with civilians.

You accurately insist that a political candidate giving a campain speech in which he says that foreign leaders want the other side to lose is not in fact claiming that any foreign leaders support him in any way. After all. He didn't actually use the word "support".

You accurately insist that 14 million programmer jobs have been outsourced to India.

You accurately correct that figure to 1 million "IT" jobs.

You then give up on that whole line of argument and point to an article that shows that IBM *might* be outsourcing 4k or so ITish jobs maybe, sometime. But that still hasn't actually happened.


You're kidding, right? Heck Smash. You hit everything but the target when you argue. Your arguments meander from point to point as you attempt to steer each debate away from the horrendous flaws in your bumpersticker logic that seem to permeate everything you attempt to say.

But that's just my opinion...

Also. Smash was arguing about 4/45 rings, not 6/65. Not that it makes much difference, but let's at least be "accurate".


I do notice that Smash hasn't refuted (can't really) the *list* of things that he's been blatantly wrong about. Funny how folks have to reach back to a 2+ year thread to find one thing I've been mistaken about (and it wasn't the advice to the OP either. I misunderstood how +hp items would interact with bandaging. Which is exusable since I've never run a character that uses bandages). All those things I posted above were claims made by Smash just in the last few months. Make your own assessment as to who is the more accurate poster...

Lol. I forgot about that one. But hey! I'm sure Smash's "Iraq will be just another Vietnam" is 100% accurate. After all, even a blind squirrel gets an acorn now and then. Surely, just this once, Smash must be right!

Or not.

No one has to dig back 2 years to find something you're wrong about, they have to dig back two years to find something you were able to admit that you were wrong about two years after the fact.

If you think that not admitting you're wrong means you're not wrong, great. Unfortunately, in the real world it just makes you the Cliff Claven of this board, the know it all who can't be argued with so most people just smile and nod and don't bother.
