Reminds me of a guy I once knew. Got his d*ck pierced. Had to have the stud surgically removed, because if an infection that set in, and caused his **** to swell.
So, stupidity would be my first answer.

To be fair, they said it's only visible when one turns their eye. That being said, I'd sooner have multiple piercings in my nether regions than risk implanting a chunk of metal in my eye for vanity purposes.
