Watching gbaji desperately defend being white and lucky as his own effort is almost as fun as watching curling.

I see varus got banned again?

And as usual, gbaji's getting it all wrong. When it was mentioned that people that are not born with fetal alcohol syndrome are lucky, he argued that point. He said it's not luck, it's the mother's choice to drink while pregnant. We aren't talking about the luck of my mother. We're talking about MY luck. I was lucky that my mother was not a raging alcoholic while she carried me. THAT was the point. I have little to no influence on what my family members choose to do, especially before I'm even friggin' born, for christ's sake.

Also, working hard is kind of difficult when you're recovering from a stroke. (my husband, not me, but it affects me) Which is also a form of luck. Just bad.

Did he? For a moment I thought he was going to be allowed to stick around a little to increase posting. Guess it was backlogged.

Why remove the latter part of the paragraph?

And if they keep asking you to come in and help do the job they hired him to do, at some point they'll put you in a better paid position. People make mistakes all the time. Your bosses are not precognitive. And you presumably don't know all the factors they considered when making the hiring decision. if it really was a mistake they either will realize it or their own business will suffer for not realizing it. If you are a more valuable employee than they're rewarding you for, this increases your ability to go elsewhere and earn higher pay.

Um...no. They will keep you there training up their nepotic picks until you quit or the heat death of the universe.

Your response doesn't counter what I said. I know you guys love to get on me for being verbose, but I honestly don't just write extra words for the sake of filling up the screen. Read the whole thing. Understand it. Then respond.
Here's the kicker, boy.

Sometimes there's no place to go at a better, or even same rate. Why can't you get this through your thick head?

I mean it's nice that you have this lollipop and cotton candy world in your head where you will always get a better just if you just try, but that isn't the way the world works.

PROTIP: The whole country is not southern California.

There are many places that the best job around is working at the truck stop by the highway. So lucking out and not being born in one of the many red state hell holes is a big part of getting ahead. That is much of the south to be blunt.

Clearly the solution is to move to SoCal, where anyone that just wakes up gets a six figure job.

....and a used Lexus.

But isn't the man who's rich in love happier, healthier and more fitted to be the human evolutionary rep than the man who simply hordes and holds material wealth.

Until you try and get him to pay child support.
