This thread keeps reminding me of that Simpson's episode that King was in, where he's talking to his editor and he's pitching his next horror novel - a possessed lamp or something. The editor says, "You're not even trying now, are you?"...followed by a quick, "When can I have it?"

Says it all.

ROFLMAO!

Ya, that's a terrific Simpson's episode, Tare. I had to laugh out loud after you jogged my memory about that one.

i suggest you go read the latest dark tower book then read all the dark tower books (released ones atleast) then read the stand and then get a clue and see how twisted this man really is you can find refernces in his new books to his older ones and even more creative refernces into newer books in his old ones. this man is definetly still trying and still writing well

i wish he would start drinking again though he was a bit more twisted as a drunk but apparently he got out of hand with it.

Don't you hate that part in LOTR where a moron takes over Gandalfs body and you are in a horrible conundrum because you love Gandalf but hate the idiotic babble coming out of his mouth?.... Oh wait, that's not in the movie, that's somewhere else.

King's older stuff was good, but I feel like he's fallen off quite a bit. (This coming from a once rabid King fan, pun intended) I wasn't too thrilled with the short stories in Hearts in Atlantis, and I wasn't able to finish From a Buick 8.

Yeah, he was much better when he was drunk and strung out on coke. Damn him for sobering up!

The Stephen King and "lamp monster" bit was from Family Guy, not The Simpsons.

"So, I was thinking, for my next book I'll do one about a small town terrorized by... uh... a lamp monster!" Smiley: lol
