For a guy that's almost 4,000 years old, you sure have shitty taste in music.
You're too old to like trendy groups. Then again, maybe I, the self-proclaimed corporate music *****, shouldn't be criticizing.
Didn't Soundgarden start out as a blatant rip-off of Pearl Jam? I have vague recollections of Soundgarden from my youth, and it seems to me that every time one of their songs came on, I couldn't tell the two bands apart.
Jack Johnson is the man. I find that the vast majority of my music-listening time is spent enjoying music that would be appropriate on a beach.
Oh, and Jack White is pretty damn good too. But I'm scared to like anything trendy, because I feel self-conscious (to the point that I actually blush) about doing anything which could be perceived by others as an attempt on my part to appear 'cool', 'with it', 'hip', 'groovy', or whatever the contemporary equivalent of the aforementioned terms happens to be at the moment.
